twobells Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Seriously? Ugh, that's too bad about the Reds (and all the rest.) We live in a risk-averse world! Senior military officials in the UK suggest that risk adversity is really starting to impact the psychology of troops and the implementation of robust combat training, which is so sad when Who Dares Wins mentality got us where we are. :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Rig: W10 PRO 64 bit, Intel 7700K, Asus Maximus IX Code, 32GB G-Skill Ripjaw DDR4, EVGA RTX 2080 TI, Samsung 1TB M.2 970PRO SSD Primary HDD, 4TB Storage, TH Warthog, Oculus Rift, 27" Samsung 4k Display. 2x Wheel Stand Pro v2 (Hotas & Stick) + Warthog Stick Adaptor
Tirak Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Guys, lets not forget that its been an absolutely awful month for crashes, both military and civilian demonstrator teams. I think toning it back a bit for a few weeks or months so everyone can take stock is in no way out of line.
mvsgas Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Remember 1977, When the F-16 Was America's Problem Child? To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Despite the frequency for Class A mishaps this year, the mishap rate is still lower at this time this year than it was at the same time last year, at least for the US Naval Services Aurora R7 || i7K 8700K || 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s || 2TB M.2 PCIe x4 SSD || GTX 1080 Ti with 11GB GDDR5X || Windows 10 Pro || 32GB Dual Channel DDR4 at 2667MHz || Virpil Warbird Base || Virpil T-50 Stick || Virpil MT-50 Throttle || Thrustmaster TPR Pedals || Oculus Rift
Tirak Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Despite the frequency for Class A mishaps this year, the mishap rate is still lower at this time this year than it was at the same time last year, at least for the US Naval Services In the past month, we've had the crash of a Thunder Bird, a Blue Angel, a Black Knight and a member of the Swiss Patrouille Suisse team. This isn't just military accidents it's the highly trained acrobatic teams. 4 different military acrobatic teams in a month. I don't care if the yearly average is lower at this point, the frequency is alarmingly high for so short a period. A cooling off period is in order.
Ragtop Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Do we have any validation on the claims the RA's are not flying the full display at RIAT? I can understand Farnborough as it's a civilian airport, and I've read the press release, but Fairford is an RAF airbase in MAA airspace. 476th vFG Alumni
