Good catch, I should really not post late at night. Anyways I am hopeful it is controlled via the description.lua so jets that had the probe door removed can be set up easily when making a skin rather than everytime I make a new mission.

It should eventually be both, or that appears to be the goal. Built-in liveries with it off to match jets painted for Gulf War, Southern/Northern Watch, Allied Force, and War on Terror. Then option to switch it on/off in missions via menu tick or script arguments or maybe in the loadout menu.

Don't worry too much about that fact.... Several people want pilots with a bushy moustache... I think that makes things easier to modelers.... 😎. Of course I'm not serious...about the moustaches...

I hope so, because that is something, that would make those missions on the PG or Syria Map feel way more immersive for VR users. It puts me always off in the Bug eg. You have those nice OIR liveries with external pilot model accurate down to the patches an look at a green flight suit inside the cockpit

Should probably be a ground crew option.  It's all just for show unless we ever get the iron maiden in game as a wrecking ball cracking canopies and tearing off probes, etc.  Can the engines even be damaged by FOD in game?  Not sure there's anything other than SOP making me go to left air source when refueling, etc either.  Don't think we can suck down any vapor or droplets or anything like that....

Afaik it does not kill pilots or engines - it just smells bad. Beside birds (not visible) no FOD is simulated.

It is a system meant to make you feel like grabbing different aircraft. Panel positions were moved at times irl (some not all of them), seat cushions were different, dynamic bunos, etc.
