TheMoose Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 My apologies for a double post. I'm sure I saw some posting on this before, but I could not find it. Is there a way to get rid of that annoying bar? LOD settings? Allo Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I did read the other post, but wasn't sure if it was the same problem. Your screen shot confirms that I have the same exact problem. ARM505 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I'm told there's some kind of downside to editing the near and middle clip values. Does anybody know what this downside is?
Mustang Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I have the exact same problem only ATI graphics. This affects all video cards, not just the ATI range, if you check the first post by TheMoose you'll see that he has this problem on his nVidia 280 GTX.

Feuerfalke Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I'm told there's some kind of downside to editing the near and middle clip values. Does anybody know what this downside is? Yes, clouds and some other effects have clipping errors. :( MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
jg3_dragon Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I can confirm this error. The clouds look strange. I took the edit out of the config. I can handle the bar on the ground, only time I see it is at the airfield, when I am sitting on the ground. I will wait on new engine. Dragon

zaelu Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 @ Mustang The clouds "flicker" when you pan your head slowly... you will observe that some of the layers are sliding out of... existence :) . TheMoose Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) Mustang you’re the man that fixes it. :D Again Thanks Mustang +1 Edited January 15, 2009 by TheMoose Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. TheMoose Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) I regress on my initial cloud statement. It does fixes the bar. But as some already mentioned; The clouds, does act weird after, see the screenshots. I’ve noticed that today. Anyhow it was a good try. Fixes one thing, but breaks something else... Hmmm, can't say i've ever seen that happen to my clouds, maybe it's because i use an ATi card? (i also use this setting in LO:FC and have no issues there either...) Edited January 15, 2009 by Mustang
EvilBivol-1 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 We don't consider this a "fix," because it alters the LOD visibility settings for the graphics engine, which is why you may be seeing other strange things happening. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. diveplane Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 yes thats correct this may fix the line but will effect clouds and distant haze lods. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
