The Apache has a lot of covers over emergency buttons, the APU or the Trigger. While it is really nice to have it simulated, I would suggest to have a special option where the cover is automatically lifted if the corresponding button is pressed using a keybind. This will spare us 1 bind per button.

This is a generalization of this request:

I saw that we got the special option to negate the trigger guard, allowing us to use a single button for the trigger function. Which is great!

It would be similarly super to have that option apply to all the covered switches on the HOCAS: Chop, Jettison

I agree. having to bind two buttons just to open the cover (which isn't animated by the way) just to then hit emergency jettison is quite annoying. I'm sure in real life they just slip their thumbnail under the cover, flick it up and press. Sadly few of us have some sort of cover we have on our switches that act as a button when lifted.

My "solution":

Button 1 = Jettison stations

Modifier X plus Button 1 = flip Jettison Cover

Even if i hit the button 1 out of slippery fingers from a ham-sandwich ( @Wags;)) while flying VR it wont do any harm. Works well for me and for every covered switch i know that modifier plus button is to "un-cover".

Just my 2 cent 🙂

There is already an option to disable the trigger guard on the cyclic. For similar reasons, please could an option be added for the Guard for Chop and Jettison buttons on Collective? As with the cyclic trigger guard, having to also press a button to open the guard is unnecessary

Just to add a bit more on this, the current arrangement makes it difficult to use or build replica equipment, as adding a button action to a flip up plastic cover is extremely difficult

With the new "Button_OFF" key bindings you can get something similar with this

Open the cover on button down and press the jettison on button up.

Downside is of course that you then can't unpress the button. If you swap them you can just press the same button twice though.
