I went through the majority of the manual within a weeks time. I refer back to it every now and then when I need to clarify something. I'm looking forward to a printed version.

I voted for number 3:

I tried to read it all but gave up before reaching half of it

That is not entirely true because i did read also some parts at the end but the thing that's true is that i gave up... simply because of the way information is scattered in bits and pieces all over the manual instead of joined together and because it's in pdf (i'm a paper guy when it comes down to reading).

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

None of the above. I tried reading it in PDF and gave up. I printed it out (in booklet format) and bound it into 3 sections cause it was like an inch thick and I only had 1/2" staples. Now I can make notes, and flip to whatever page I need while I am flying for quick reference. Ive read most of it Im sure I havent read everything but damn close ( I mioght have skipped the morse code)

i like realism, so i have started with the flight controls (trimming was a tough one for me to get used to), then moved on to info display and nav, finally i will get to the weapons systems (hopefully before the year is out). i made a mission where is can fly around without enemy fire to get used to flying before fighting.

cheers...

I have to say ... I found 'other' sites *cough* (not the manual) more helpful when it came to getting the down and dirty on system management. Sorry ...

Mostly because I can't stand reading books and long documents on a screen! I need to have it on paper, so I can take it with me and read it anywhere I like, and in any position I like. Preferably laying down on my couch :)

System: Asus z270 A Prime, Intel i7-7700K 4.8GHz, 32GB DDR4, RTX2080, Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD.

Valve Index VR, TM Warthog Throttle & Grip, Virpil MongoosT-50CM2 base, TM TPDR Rudders.

OS: Win10 Home

I think if they ever did research on this (they being game makers in general), it would be an overwhelming response that would completely agree with the above and for the same reasons.

That is exactly how I feel, I could not have said it better. The only thing I would've added is: I can actually read it while the game is running, which is something I can't do now!

i configured the game resolution to 1024x768 in window

mode (not full screen). this way i can read the PDF manual

on screen while still having the ability to practice in the

cockpit. this also enables me to assign the controls as i

learn what they do and where they should be.

i pretend to read it cover to cover, but have no time

plans for that... in fact, this kind of reading is almost

the same pleasure as flying the chopper.

i'm still in the ABRIS chapter, but already firing the bird

up and leaving the ground sometimes just for fun. my

rate of crash to date is 100%

:D

edit: i would like the flight manual even more if it

presented the systems in a more tutorial way (falcon

style).

I also think it's one of these famous placeholder in webshops.

How should they know more then us? ;)

Or choice 6: I read most of it except the ARBIS section the first two days it was available. I got the sim, started fiddling with stuff, then went back to the manual to look things up. When I wanted to learn more about the ARBIS, I started going through that again. Much of the manual is reference charts, though, so it looks more confusing and is shorter than it actually is. If there's something cryptic, just don't read it because probably it won't make any sense until you have hands-on with the system and get some sense of what they're talking about.

It's about the printed manual.

It will be there, but when and how? - not official yet.

This simw.com offer is a placeholder i think and to get people to make preorders.

Anyway, Black Shark costed me 37 € and the manual then is 39 € + p&p ?

Nooo. ;)
