cfrag Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Well, given the fact that ED have just announced a "Maverick Legacy" sale until Juno 2nd, and that they seldom run competing sales, I doubt that either will be available before the 2nd of June, so yeah, two weeks is again what it is 3
Stackup Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 I don't expect it before June anyways because May is almost done complete with an open beta update and we usually only get one big open beta patch each month. 2 Modules: F-14A/B, F/A-18C, F-16C, F-4E, F-5E, FC3, AV-8B, Mirage 2000C, L-39, Huey, F-86, P-51, P-47, Spitfire, Mosquito, Supercarrier Maps: Persian Gulf, Syria, NTTR, Marianas, Normandy 2, Channel, Kola Upcoming Modules Wishlist: A-1H, A-7E, A-6E, Naval F-4, F-8J, F-100D, MiG-17F
ThorBrasil Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 I believe it shouldn't take long to launch. (I do have my gut feeling that we wouldn’t be waiting much longer though ) Yeah, I'm anxious for it but know it will be released when it meets the their quality bar. It isn't like devs think "the product is good to go, lets not release it for another month to make em wait". I swear it looks like some think that sometimes. The problem probably stems from teasers that by their nature don't show flaws or unfinished bits. People assume the whole product as good as the trailer. My project managers always knew exactly what they could and couldn't show to clients to leave the best impression. 4

Jannik Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 Is it really that far...? It's hard if you always think "Should I make the afford to make a Syria Mission or is Sinai there in a few hours..?". I know how developers feel about questions about release dates, but it would save me so much headake if I knew e.g. that it's not comming the next week. So, by any chance, can we get something like a release date? Like tis month, not this month, not the next week, next update, something like this? 2
Thx1137 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Given what happened with the F15, I wouldn't give any indication of a date at all until everyone involved was actually 100% ready. If that's the case it could release in 1 second or 1 year, there is no way for us to tell. The devs will get flack either way but by not saying anything they reduce how hyped up many players get. I think this terrain uses new DCS features so it may be an ED issue holding it up. Who knows. But I'm sure if they actually knew they would say something. 2
cfrag Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 (edited) What we are seeing here are the classic interests of a developer at cross-purposes: First, of course, the developers are proud of what they are developing, and naturally want to share exciting news about it. This has the beneficial side effect of generating hype and interest in the product. I can also create inflated expectations, but every developer intends to cross that bridge when they get to it. The more interest, the better. Then, I think everyone understands that it's in the developer's interest to ship as early as possible. It's the point in time when they can switch from financial risk (spending their own or borrowed money) to a (hopefully sustainable) revenue stream. The earlier they can deliver, the better for them financially. The conundrum is this: if they go too early, they risk launching an immature product that attracts negative reviews, and tarnishes their reputation for years to come (it's a strange and bewildering fact that, on average, it takes five times (!) as much good feedback to even out bad). Bad feedback destroys sales, and they can end up losing money or even the company if a bad launch destroys the business case. If, on the other hand, they go too late, hype may eclipse all sane expectations, and in addition to having to pay back higher loans, they also have to contend with bad feedback from people who thought that Sinai came pre-packaged with some form of Jesus. So it's a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't situation. Its the main reason the marketing guys all are bald. Not because it's trendy, but because they've been pulling out their hair the whole time. And, probably even more frustrating, OnReTech can't decide alone - they align their schedule with a business partner who marshals a number of product launches (each with their own vagaries) over time. So even if they were good to go now, but overall strategy was to first launch another product (cough-15E), OTR'd be sitting in the starting grid, revving their engines, anxiously monitoring their gauges. So when will we see Sinai? Let's all assume that we'll see it later than OnTeTech wants us to. Here's to a soon and successful launch. I'm eagerly awaiting my Jesus-Map Edited June 3, 2023 by cfrag 3

OnReTech Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Hey guys, thanks for the questions and your guesses. We are looking forward to the release of our module, the last 2 weeks we have been actively working with beta testers and fixing bugs and shortcomings that we missed while preparing the module for EA. We also received feedback from real pilots and made ourselves a large list of tasks that will be completed after EA. All the tasks and additions that we will implement in the 3rd phase of the project, I will publish after the release of EA. Thank you all for your patience. 5 4
