It is once again a misinterpretation of the facts. The model of the Ka-52 is by Tim Samedov. The mod is from Currenthill. However, the quality of the cockpit would allow it to be used by cutting it out to create a full-fledged virtual cockpit. Currenthill is an animation specialist. It shouldn't be difficult for him to animate all the switches and levers, as well as the control sticks. The other team could then pass their clickable commands for the virtual cockpit. But it is not an easy task.

Someone help me, in the viable mods when I put it in flight mode it appears in yellow indicating that it can be flown but then when I enter the game it doesn't work and it enters the map, someone help me!

Glad to see the M2A3 is being added. Have you considered making the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet or the Growler for the US Assets by chance?

Chiller Juice Studios already have an excellent mod for the super hornet and growler, no need for an AI version👍

I have an issue with the Spear 5 ASHM missile on the type 26. when it pops up to hit the ship it just flies up and past the target before flying in circles above.

Discovered a glitch with M777 reloading/rearming.

If you give it a waypoint action of "Fire at Point" without specifying "Rounds Expended", it won't reload with a supply truck in range the way your M270A1 MLRS or ED's M109 Paladin will. It *will* reload if you set Rounds Expended to 60 or less (for Weapon Type = "AUTO" or 40 for "Unguided" or 20 for "Guided'), but then it's limited to that barrage instead of continuous fire.

Also, the reload/rearm timer is weird: Excaliburs load all at once after about 40 sec; HE rounds load one at time about every 4 min (which will take over 2.5 hours for a full reload).

Using latest open beta and latest USA asset pack (1.0.0 dated 21 Dec 2023, downloaded yesterday).

Noob question :  Hi guys , I'm kinda "new" to DCS so I'm still "experimenting" with the editor to learn more every day.

How can I set the artilellery to fire at a certain point? Do I just need to select "fire at point" and that's it?

Do they need supply trucks or something? Thanks to anyone who'll help!

Yes, that is basically it, plus you have to set where is the target and it must be within sight of the firing unit. Here is a tutorial:

I have not needed them on my missions, but I'm not sure if eventually the units need re-supply.

Figured it out.

Reload time was easy. Just need to change reload_time (and switch_on_delay) in M777_GunsAndAmmo.lua to something reasonable like 180.

The not reloading at all with an unlimited "Fire at Point" task took longer to figure out, but it's because of the multiple launchers (ammo types) defined for the vehicle. That's why the MLRS and M109 didn't have the problem. Seems to be a bug with DCS, reproducible with ED's KS-19. Though I expect no one's come across it because really, who orders AAA to fire at a point on the ground? (EDIT: Correction, the KS-19 *will* reload, it just takes about 20 min, loads all at once, and doesn't appear to reload until its HE rounds are expended. So now I'm not sure if it's just a mod problem or DCS problem, but I've confirmed the fix here works with the latest build)

Quick fix is to comment out (or remove) lines 121-149 in M777LTH_MTVR.lua and lines 90-118 in M777LTH.lua

Longer term fix would be for CH to decide whether to break out the M795 and Excalibur into separate unit definitions as was done for MLRS and HIMARS.

I thought ED enabled the code that allowed AI Helo's to use their turret mounted cannons ?

Yep, I added a Ka-52 with only the cannon and a couple of trucks.

If you're using the Ka-52K remember that it defaults to antiship and not CAS.

Yeah I was using the normal Ka-52, she's fine with the missiles, I wonder if I have a conflicting module ?

UPDATE: Seems the old Ka52 Alligator from Hawkeye was causing a confliction, gun's a poppin now !

CurrentHill, Love your mods! I have a bit of them installed and running good on my private server. With the F-4 soon to be released and the Mig-23 within the next year and perhaps some older aircraft from other mod makers on the way, do you have any future plans on creating the classic Mach 4 US MIM-14 Hercules and MIM-3 AJAX SAMs? Loved these early SAMs even though they weren't the best, more for bombers then incoming fighters. My base here in the US used to have 4 squadrons of them around the area and their pads are still there. Would love to see and use them in game. I did make a model of the Hercules and its launcher but got to the point where I could only skin it onto the SA-2 in game, have not been able to figure out the DCS Lua coding to get it working standalone other then as a static model. I do have the models up for download on my DCS profile page, feel free to use them if you wish!
