CurrentHill, Love your mods! I have a bit of them installed and running good on my private server. With the F-4 soon to be released and the Mig-23 within the next year and perhaps some older aircraft from other mod makers on the way, do you have any future plans on creating the classic Mach 4 US MIM-14 Hercules and MIM-3 AJAX SAMs? Loved these early SAMs even though they weren't the best, more for bombers then incoming fighters. My base here in the US used to have 4 squadrons of them around the area and their pads are still there. Would love to see and use them in game. I did make a model of the Hercules and its launcher but got to the point where I could only skin it onto the SA-2 in game, have not been able to figure out the DCS Lua coding to get it working standalone other then as a static model. I do have the models up for download on my DCS profile page, feel free to use them if you wish!

@currenthill Hi CH, i think after the latest update your naval ships cannot be seen on radar from planes, ive tested anything thats using your sensors cannot be detected base game units can be seen and fired on. for example player or AI using fantasmagoria in A/G mode your ships do not appear to be targeted, this results in AI also not firing AshM against your ships

Good catch! I've done some testing myself and it seems like some ships can't be detected until around 35-40 nm. So they're not invisible, only harder to see at longer range. I've tested both mods and in-game assets and the results are all over the place. I also noticed that if you add AWACS support to your side the AI will pick up the ships at normal ranges. 

I will continue to investigate.

Can't seem to get the DF-21s to fire on an assigned group. Even had a friendly AWACS in the vicinity of the targets. ☹️

The target is most likely outside of AWACS coverage. If you want to fire at targets outside of its coverage (i.e by satellite navigation), you need to use the 'Attack Group' command. I just tried it, and it worked fine against a target 485 nm away. 👍🏻

I agree, I think some more UAVs would be nice. I have made a simple Russian air force skin for the Wing-Loong already in game for now while we don't have any, I will try to figure out how to post it on the user files soon👍

I can confirm. Looks like it won't point towards the target (inside the traverse limits) even though I set it up correctly in ME. 🤪

Hi! I see that for the Storm Shadow and the Taurus missiles you use very high RCS values (0.21 for Storm Shadow, 0.9 for Taurus). Open source estimates for these missiles are around 0.02 square meters for X and K bands frequencies. These estimates are coherent wth the observations in Ukraine, where a Pantsir only detected a Storm Shadow at 5 km with its radar, and failed to intercept it.

I have gone through every single weapon and radar for all assets and tweaked all the parameters to make them more coherent and realistic. I've based my changes on all available OSINT, like the one you are referring to. Unfortunately there will take some time for me to make all these changes available since I update one country pack at a time. 👍🏻

Thank you for the link @lodewijk12 - I will definitely add those assets right now! It seems like there are several of the ones I listed included or planned.

For some reason none of CurrentHill's ships are showing up in-game (but do show up in the mission editor, until I try to test fly the mission) after the last update.

Is it just me or did the update break something? Hopefully we didn't corrupt the game files somehow.

 

By the way, does anyone know if there is a way to get the DF-21/DF-26 (or other missiles) to spawn/start mid-air by themselves without the need of a launcher vehicle? Our Guam invasion scenario is meant to start with a volley of ballistic missiles striking Anderson AFB and various military installations throughout Guam (like the PLARF would IRL) but there isn't any land to place the launcher vehicles on in the direction that mainland China is in. Is it possible to do this?

 

P.S.  I noticed the [CH] PLZ-07 SPG isn't amphibious for some reason (and is missing the floats) - do you intend to release an amphibious variant? @currenthill

Not just CH's ships, but not even core game ships are showing up. They're present on the map in ME, but when I try to test/enjoy watching ships blow each other up, there is nothing but AWACs flying coverage for no-one. This is a shame as I was looking forward to the blend of the two formats.

After some investigation this afternoon, an old CH MiG29MU2 (version 1.3.0) was causing a conflict. This was rectified by updating my assets to the combined Ukraine Assets Pack (thank you CH!).

 

I also had a conflict causing this issue with an older version of the Codename Flanker SU-30MK_SFM v2.0B. I'm yet to download a different version to see if this causes any issues. But these were what were causing my issues. I'd recommend checking these off.
