SUFA mod creators do not want to do Arrow because of small war theatre in DCS. So I will do.

System is complete but I’m waiting for intelligence report about Arrow effectiveness during last large missile strike.

Status update

Weapon issues with DCS 2.9.5.55300
As you remember, there are currently two issues at hand.

Issue #1 -  Affecting all SAMs using TVC - making them go haywire and flying everywhere

All affected missiles in all the affected country packs have been fixed. Tests are finished and everything seem to work as intended. 

Issue #2 - Affecting all missiles using the old DCS missile parameter set - making them fall short of the intended target

As I mentioned before, this issue is a bit more tricky as it can't be reproduced with DCS core units (as ED has migrated all their weapons to newer parameter sets), and therefore we can't submit a proper error report to ED. I'm working weapon for weapon to see what I can come up with.

I've been working on a solution for the guided artillery shells which seem to work, we're about to start testing. No solutions for the other assets yet.

Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #2:

  • HIMARS PrSM
  • HIMARS PrSM antiship
  • HIMARS GLSDB
  • HIMARS GMLRS
  • M270 GLSDB

Work has begun to find solutions for these, I've tested a lot of different solutions, but DCS doesn't seem to work as before and everything I try is inconsistent. For example, I can get a missile to guide perfectly to a target two times in a row, but the next missile just go haywire and doesn't track at all. These kind of issues are very hard to pinpoint.

Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #3:

  • AFT-10 HJ-10
  • CV9050 Spike LR2
  • RBS 58
  • FGM-148

On top of that, I've been out of action for a couple days, caught some bug. But I intend to return to troubleshooting by tomorrow. 👍🏻

I really wish ED would develop a way for Modders to have some limited access to SDK for weapons purposes or some kind of integrated modding. I know somewhere someone has requested something like this for years now..  P.S. Hope you feel better soon! Thanks again for your work.

The solution for guided artillery shells seem to work as intended. With the added benefit that guided shell will now also have the firing effect (this was a known limitation in my current version). There will also be separate artillery assets for unguided and guided  shells.

There is unfortunately no solutions for the other assets (beyond the guided artillery shells) yet.

Issue #3 - Affecting ATGMs

I have fixed the ATGMs, but unfortunately I had to remove the top attack mode, since I haven't found a good enough solution, that's consistent. So we'll have to live with direct attack mode until further notice, but they work against both ground vehicles and slow helicopters. 

Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #3 (green means fixed):

I'm currently cleaning up the packages and creating incremental updates that will fix the ones in green above. That will give me time to develop solutions for the remaining issues, while at least all SAMs, artillery and ATGMs work as intended. 👍🏻

The last update changed the standard dispersal settings in the weapon page. Double check the burst altitude and spin rate. It's likely set too low.

As I mentioned earlier, I had to pause all development on the German pack update since there are so many broken assets. And it stays paused until I have figured out solutions for the 13 assets that still doesn't work.

Suggestion: 

I love your stuff by the way. However, there's a big gap in DCS that bugs me every time i try and make a historic mission, blue AA guns. Specifically, the 20mm and 35mm guns. 

Here are a few examples of stuff I'd really like to see. 

Oerlikon GDF - Wikipedia

M42 Duster - Wikipedia  <---Used in Vietnam war and but a number of nations. Would be great for anything cold war from Korea to the Gulf War. While not historically ideal, it would also add functionality to Falklands war type scenarios, as well as Arab-Israeli wars. 

Oerlikon 20 mm cannon - Wikipedia

MANTIS Air Defense System - Wikipedia

M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage - Wikipedia

(Just because it would be fun to attack this with P47's or other warbirds) Schwerer Gustav - Wikipedia

Hi, im sorry if this is already reported, i looked back a few pages but i couldn't see it mentioned, but in the latest version of your UK assets, the type 26 frigate sea ceptor malfunctions and spins, i had the older version from a few months back which has the same issue so i updated but it still malfunctions but the firing point has been moved to the middle of the ship rather than the front.

This has been an issue since the F-4 Phantom dropped - everything just broke and Currenthill is trying to come up with a fix.

I've redone the artillery guided shells again, wasn't happy with the last solution since it wasn't accurate enough. I'm feeling pretty happy with the new solution, testing is ongoing. This version will also have separate artillery assets for unguided and guided shells.

Testing is ongoing for the green assets, while I'm working on finding suitable solutions for the non fixed assets. I plan to continuously release fix updates for the country packs where all assets are working.
