Agreed. I think folks with chair mounts are going to want to mod them.

I built my mount with this in mind (currently using the blackhawk grip with a 100mm extension)

I was thinking that with something this long, I would probably just figure out a DIY bench that I could slide under my desk and then position next to my chair when I needed. Then I can keep my Winwing throttle nearby for the stuff I have mapped there, and move the collective into an appropriate position next to my chair.

Well as tempting as I am sure it will be, think I will just continue to stick with my VPC Rotor and Alpha L grip. So far the combo seems to work well for me with the Apache. But I also need more hours in it.

I have extra weights standing by but since I have an extension on currently (to get the same overall length) I doubt I'll need much.

Same here
The replica stuff of course is really cool and nice to have, but I expect that the price tag will hold me off from upgrading from my Alpha-L (which is really great btw. I even still have some buttons on the grip that I do not use when in the Apache).

I‘ll go for it when it‘s out…..actually but still no further news on it.

I guess I‘ll look for use of another steering damper if there will be problems with mounting it. 

I have already two of them on my cyclic and one attached to my pedals.

I hope Virpil do something bespoke for the AH-64D apache collective base unit and do not use the standard chopper collective unit.

For me, It feels painfully long waiting for the 64D collective to be released.

I am somewhat suprised it is taking them this long even especially after that teaser pic they posted on their forums a while ago now.

It has to be one of the most challenging collectives to build.

There are sooo many switches, hats & analogue hats that need to be squeezed into such a small collective, it must be a nightmare. it is basically 2 collectives in one unit.

I'm wondering if they are not only working on the collective, but some sort of native counter balancing solution for it, which the counter balancing has been a common complaint.  Or perhaps a new collective base version altogether?  I'm 100% speculating here.

A basic base unit that has hydraulics built into it, a premier unit that any one can upgrade too..... we can hope!

But without doubt!

I am truly looking forward to laying my hands on a collective that has so much switchery, analogue adjustability, and so many 4 way hats that it is beyond belief!

The DCS AH-64D and the Physical Virpil collective, Total controls MPDs have literally caused a massive change in my virtual pit.

I'm concerned they haven't shown this in action with the existing collective bases. I hope they show that before the preorder.

Also, is it made in Belarus, or Lithuania?
