tezak Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 As title says, I cannot see them while doing case 3 or in plain dayight
Dr Zaius Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Its an MT thing, was really hopeful the latest patch got this fixed but of late the SC isn’t getting much love 1 System Specs: Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6GHz @ 4.8GHz, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master, 32 GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3600 RAM, GeForce GTX 4090, Crucial SSD (2TB), TrackIR 5, TM Throttle, VPC WarBRD Stick, TM T-Flight Rudder Pedals, Samsung 49” Odyssey G9
Czar66 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 From flights today, I can confirm the lights are working on Single Threaded executable at noon in heavy weather. Might be a Multi Threaded thing as Zaius pointed out. Use Single Threaded as the MT gains were not worth against the bugs still present. off topic note: If you're flying the Hornet, also the A/G radar in GMT and SEA's map overlay is not bugged in Single Threaded as they overlay on top of bricks without the interleave function being on and on every sweep.
Cepheus76 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Quick question: According to the changelog, the issue with the line up lights should have been fixed with the June, 8th update. However, when I hopped into Bankler's Case 1 Training mission, the line up lights were still u/s. Does anyone else have still this issue?

Try to Load Bankler´s mission in Mission Editor, then save it, and then try to fly the mission again to see if the issue persists. Cepheus76 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Just tried the re-saving trick, alas it didn't work. Also, I tried the stock Case 3 Recovery mission, with the same result, no line up lights.
boerdi Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 (edited) Tested latest version of Bankler's mission (7.2.0) just now with current OB 2.8.6.41066 (MT) The LRLS does work but it's barely visible And nevermind the super janky pattern/trap score, it's been a while since I tried Bankler's gauntlet Edited June 9, 2023 by boerdi
Cepheus76 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Just tested again and found the lights- but they are not really bright indeed.
Nealius Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) Same on my end. Should be visible up to 10nm (Wiki stats so take with salt) yet in the current MT it's only discernable when already in the groove. Edited June 10, 2023 by Nealius
rob10 Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 I suspect it's related to settings/resolution. No problem for me to see them on the GW on Persian Gulf tonight at >10 nm. I'm 2D.

I'm 2D. Might be, but somehow I am disinclined to mess with the resolution etc. For what it is worth, I just did a quick test with Bankler's mission in ST and there the lights are easy to observe.
boerdi Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) My resolution is 1440p LRLS test in a bit "darker/cloudier" environment (multiplayer) It's visible but if the sun is high in the sky and without clouds it can be harder to discern the light Edited June 10, 2023 by boerdi 1
Nealius Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) Watching that in full screen at 1440p, I cannot discern the light until 0.6nm on the TACAN. My earlier screenshot was in 1080p. Will have to test at night...I assume it's mainly used for CASE III / night anyways. Edited June 10, 2023 by Nealius
Thx1137 Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) I tried twice at night and I couldn't see them until I was at 8nm or just under. It may have been hidden for a short time by the hud symbology but I was looking around the hud to get it out of view so I'm sure I couldn't see them at 10nm. I haven't tried this patch during the day yet. I'm running 1440p, 2D with most settings maxed out on a RTX 4080. Edited June 10, 2023 by Thx1137
boerdi Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) Couple of pre-Multithread LRLS examples in 1440p: Case I - Turning final at 03:00 LRLS looks bigger/puffier than in current MT build? Case III Video starts at 6 nm to carrier but I think I had no trouble seeing the LRLS even earlier Edited June 13, 2023 by boerdi 1
abikns Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 (edited) Does not work since the first multi-core version. Was reported fixed twice, but it wasn't fixed. The topics get closed too, but I'm happy to report it again. Edited June 16, 2023 by abikns
Flappie Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Are you using OB or Release version? Would you mind attaching a short DCS track showing the issue? ---
abikns Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I tested it in OpenBeta, MT preview with the supercarrier module. The light is off all the time (independent of red, green, yellow).
BarTzi Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 latest OB, MT - and it works. It was recently fixed.

abikns Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I saw that it was marked as fixed, but it is still not working. Not in the "Mission Qualification - Supercarrier CASE I Recovery" "Persian Gulf" at least. I was playing this mission after the last patch and it is still not working on my system.

abikns Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 (edited) Yes, my game is up-to-date and I used to see the light, before the MT version game out. Am I not supposed to see the light during day landings? Was it dimmed down? I used to see that light from 10 nm away in the past, now I don't see it at all. Edited June 16, 2023 by abikns
