The new flight model and trim modes are probably good in multicrew but for us single crew players who hop between seats, please bring back the autohover so we can get a HOT3 off the rails in a stable fashion. Also the auto collective. I know it doesn't exist in reality but I'm just one guy trying to do both!

And please bring back the Autohover Word on the controls display.

Lastly, the turn towards target function often messes up or cancels the pedal trim and starts a bad spin.

It doesnt work now? Pls dont joke! How is possible to hover if we havent here someone like "George" or "Petrovich".

Dont joke about no auto hover option for jumping on weapon operator station like HOT3.

I'm not joking. You basically have to trim it out, first roughly then using the hat switch for fine trim. But that neat hiding behind a building and just poking your sight over the top won't really work now if you're trim all the trim while using the periscope. And I have no springs in my stick so it's really difficult.

On the plus side I got some first periscope kills in the open Sinai desert!

SP always comes in last, unfortunately. I don't know the dev's intent, but I'm guessing that it was more important to push the changes as-is than focus on a minority of user base. I'm not sure the percentage, but look at how SP has been more and more abandoned in favor of MP/PVP in all games currently. I don't think that the dev team specifically said, "F these guys," but that's just how it seems to roll when there is a bottom line. The only caveat might be that PC will get to it, if their PM isn't all up on them about daily Scrums/Kanban and meetings-to-have-meetings so they can get back to work. 😉 *fingers crossed* Maybe we'll see auto-hover return in the next patch?

Based on this Reddit poll, seems the SP base isn't actually that far off in numbers from the MP base granted it's a small sample size 3 years ago.

It isn't an issue about single player but single crew, even on a multiplayer server.

I got it into autohover:
The autohover itself, makes somthing happen, not sure what.. But when as stable as possible, I also hit the "sync-to-sight" thing.. And Voila!
But now I can't control the camera. It seem some of the old keybinds are gone, and I can not find it back, because I have no clue what it is named.
But yeah! I autohovered as long as I wanted.

I haven't tried yet. But that preview video showed the gazelle in hover while he used missiles and also stable forward movment while he was working the minigun.

Its actually pretty easy given the over-powered stabilizer, you can just do run in attacks with it as long as you lock the sight. I very much doubt the stab system was anywhere near this good BTW.

Kind of a workaround (I am learning to fly this damn thing):

  1. stabilize manually in hover
  2. engage hover (Q)
  3. stabilize again
  4. hit Escape to get menu (it appears this places helicopter into hover)
  5. leave the stick in neutral position
  6. return to game (ESC)

Voilà: redneck hover. 🙂 (do not attempt to 'E')

Auto hover in the Gazelle is a total wrecking ball. Try popping up to kill a tank in Enigma's server...good luck. Taking the A-10 from now on...FIX THE GAZELLE!

Use a collective (or even throttle) with a 2-axis mini stick.  That way you can use the mini-stick for the VIVIANE while maintaining helicopter control.  It is also possible to fire the HOT3 on the move, so you don't actually need to hover.  Run in, pop up, launch, maintain guidance, then break off the attack.  Speed is life.  No need for a second crew member or auto hover.

Or if you have a spare monitor and don't do VR, get Helios and you don't even have to change seats. 😉

If I'm doing the hit'n'run, I don't really touch the collective at all, so I use a second unused joystick to control the "Vivian". Can even do it when hovering during daytime. It's a little more tricky during nights.

Anyway, auto-hover got to be fixed, and not in three years.
Speed is life, but sometimes you need to hover. Of course we can use the mini stick, and Cyclic, and rudder, and collective, and so on, but thats a lot of workload when you try to aim (espacially at a moving target for instance).

Honestly PC should copy Petro for the gunner at least. This hopping around between seats is a) unrealistic, b) lame to do.

They should implement an AI like the AH-64D or Mi-24P Hind, because switching places is not realistic.
There was no need for a very complex AI, just one that could detect targets, select them and fire weapons.
