QuiGon Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 (edited) Guys, napalm bombs and their effects were already announced 3 years ago by ED when the Hornet was released into EA: Quote Mk-77 firebomb (visual effect first required, after early access) So yes, they are planned. It's just a matter of time. Edited September 7, 2023 by QuiGon 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

P47 , A-1, F-9F, F-4U all could carry napalm. First use of napalm? Japan, B-29 bombers. All big towns except of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 1

Some remarks: https://www.historynet.com/when-was-napalm-first-used-in-world-war-ii/#:~:text=In the Pacific%2C U.S. soldiers, oil and gasoline%2C creating firebombs. Quote Invented in 1942, napalm saw combat for the first time in Sicily in August 1943, when American troops incinerated a wheat field believed to shelter Germans. In the Pacific, U.S. soldiers first used napalm on December 15, 1943, in flamethrowers used to burn Japanese defenders out of a cave on Pilelo, a tiny island northeast of New Guinea. Air bombardments followed in short order. Airmen mixed napalm powder with various combinations of oil and gasoline, creating firebombs. Standard Oil’s M-69 napalm bombs saw Pacific combat for the first time on February 15, 1944, when the Seventh Air Force attacked the town of Pohnpei, capital of the eponymous Micronesian island. A total of 118 tons of bombs hit the island over the next 11 days. Napalm has not the only incendiary weapons, has others. In fact incendiary devices was used previously by UK and Axis from WW2. Remember from Spanish Civil War was used incendiary bomb, and on WTO, Roterdam, London, Hamburg, etc on large raids with incendiary bombs by Axis and Allieds https://www.crf-usa.org/bill-of-rights-in-action/bria-15-3-a-firestorms-the-bombing-of-civilians-in-world-war-ii The problem has no a "Napalm Vietnam" effect, has build propper incendiary bombs with your proppers effects. And AI sees through them too. (kinda a big deal for WW2 stuff). Also so do optically guided AAA, as of course any IR manpads. Also targeting lasers go right through them as well. IRL of course cloud cover was a major tactical issue. In DCS, well... I guess its not that important. 3 New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog.
