Adjusting the the countermeasure programs breaks IC for multiplayer?

As the title says, it seems adjusting the countermeasure programs via the LUA file breaks IC now. (Open Beta 2.8.84704) This hasn't happened in the past so am curious if this is intended or a bug. For reference, I am only adjusting the chaff/flare programs in the CMDS_ALE47.lua file, (D:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Cockpit\Scripts\EWS\CMDS\device\CMDS_ALE47.lua) to the quantities and intervals listed by @Raptor9 in his post here:

I adjust the LUA file instead of changing the programs in the jet, as that only needs to be done once per update instead of each time one hops in the jet.

They added these files to the IC quite a bit ago.

Seems like it depends on the server. The LUA files broke IC for me starting half a year ago.

You could use the DTC app https://github.com/the-paid-actor/dcs-dtc

Or unfortunately wait until ED releases their proprietary DTC for the F16

What's odd is that I flew today, did not change anything, and it passes IC. Also of note is that I edit the Hornets lua file for this too, and that one never flagged at all.

Online? Maybe some servers do not require it.

That depends on the mission setting the server runs. If they require pure scripts, it breaks IC. If they don‘t, then you can use it without issue.

Have you tried DiCE already to edit the CMS programs? 

It supports the Viper, the Hornet, the Hog, the AV8B and the M2000. And afaik it does not break IC plus it gives you an integrated editor to edit the CMS programs. Quite more comfortable than editing lua-files.

I suppose I need to clarify things. I got this error on the night I posted this when I was on the server list screen, not when joining a server. The little shield at the top of the screen had turned red, and when I clicked on it, got the error message. The following night, with nothing changed, the shield was green and no problems whatsoever.

The IC usually won't check the script unless it's been loaded. The first time you start up DCS the edited script should pass. It should only fail after you've loaded into the cockpit at least once.

i wish ED can implement something like in theJF17, where you can set the programs in the "Special" tab under options. It's very easy and fast to use

I'm sure the long awaited DTC facility will offer this and more.

I think when we`ll get the DTC, it can be possible to adjust there in mission editor.

I know we get DTC one day, but the way it is now, it's just clumsy and annoying, having to set CM every time we start up

 

I mean while we wait for a DTC, ED could have made a temporarily solution like i mentioned above

What are you regularly changing?  I only change five numbers on program 1 & 2 during each startup, takes literally seconds while the INS is aligning.  I set program 1 as anti ARH/BVR, and program 2 as a WVR anti IR dispense pattern.  Sometimes I'll program 3 as a pre-emptive pop-up attack, longer duration pattern, but not always.

Do you have optimised profiles for each specific threat?  Quite interested in how others set it up.

Yes, i do use different programs as the stock ones are quite useless.

Hope so. And I really hope we can set the options outside missions, and save the settings in as many iterations as we want to, and that they are shareable.
