PunchOut Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 such a joke. I standby what I said before BN deleted the post and gave me warning points. ED screwed up when they said in the 2024 and Beyond video that Halfghanistan would be released in 2024. So they split the map up into parts so they could release the *some* of it in order to meet their announcement. Paying customers are getting fed up with this. No legitimate competition for a modern combat simulator is really starting to show it's true colors. Do better. Temetre Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 (edited) Tbh theres more talk around explaining the weird sales models than there is selling the map to us. Like, why is this map 70 bucks worth, when eg Syria was 50? Why should we buy another map with very similar terrain to the other ones? Tell us why the map is worth buying, besides the very basic marketing blips. The map certainly looks cool, come on ED, sell us the idea of the map and why your approach is special. Splitting the maps up like this also seems nedlessly complicated, as indicated by the amount of questions it creates; even the long FAQ doesnt exaplain everything. Theres now gonna be 7 different combinations of the 3 map versions; and compatability of missions/campaigns/servers will be kind of a struggle, since terrain quality will affect visibility even in BFM, let alone anything ground based. When I dogfight using the low quality version, will just be able to dive into where cities would be, and the high quality players seems me warping through buildings? Edited March 28, 2024 by Temetre

Viper ZA Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 I may have missed it, but when is the first part release date for early access. Maybe I can hold off from buying this month. 1

And assuming they hit their 3 month *target* release it will be fully released by the end of 2024. Personally I'll take the split maps and get access to it 6 months sooner than waiting until December for the whole thing. I would put money on far more people being familiar with Bagram, Kabul, Jalalabad, Mazar E Sharif, FOB Shank, & the Khost bowl to include the borders along Pakistan than what is in the West, hence my comment. Not gunna buy it in this state....pretty simple. Edit: You are now how the excellent opportunity to pay for Afghanistan 3 times since apparently the country is fractured into West, East, & North..... You mean far more Americans, not far more people. Amazingly, not all people are Americans, but I do think you are correct with your presumption that Americans would be more familiar with those areas (which are coming later on anyway). And no, I'll be buying it once and getting all three parts in one map. Because I read and understood the map announcement. East first in high detail, other areas to follow in high detail. Doubt. You'd might get people knowing Helmand/Bastion/Lash (which are right next to each other) and KAF but I'd put money on damn near everyone being able to remember Kabul over any one of those locations.....but you can justify their decision all ya want. 4 minutes ago, durka-durka said: I don't know anything about Afghanistan, only that I'm hyped to fly in the mountains, and I'm really looking forward to trying to pronounce all those names you put up. Not the 7000m peaks, but 3000-4000m high mountains that are still challenging to cross in weather, nonetheless. 1 Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)
