The slow-mo is actually kind of unhelpful in diagnosing the problem... but my guess would be you flew through the bandit's lingering wing-vortices? Happens to me all the time in BFM when in the same maneuvering plane/circle as the bandit.

Check the wake turbulence options. If it's enabled, it's probably that.

It's an online server with turbolence at 0,3 m/s and winds at 0 m/s, i don't think this is the problem

The bandit was on the other side of the circle, far from me

Atmospheric turbulence and wake turbulence are two different things and can be enabled seperatly in DCS.

That doesn't matter. Wake turbulence stays for several minute in the air and drift only with a few knots of speed. If you crossed his flight path, you will have crossed his wake turbulence, which leads to what you recorded.

I've never seen this kind of effect and the server is set to not have turbolence .

And the mission? There is also a setting that has to be enabled or disabled in the mission itself.

Can you tell us what server it is with which mission or can you upload the track?

The server is Mobettameta Dogfighters Server 1, later i'll upload the track, but it's a big track. Anyway i can tell you exacly when the problem occurs. It happens several times, in my video you can see the problem at the max of his evidence.

Hi, If possible please repeat the issue in single player it would reduce the track size and make it easier to debug. Is it something you can reproduce on demand?

Yes please, thank you for uploading the track.

Does it always happen with an aircraft nearby or does it also happen with you completely alone in the sky? Because from your video with your description, my bet is still on wake turbulence.

I apologize for the big track, when i'll have time i'll investigate more deeply. In the meanwhile please go to this google drive link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R3vadHtYfBPkEO53lhRfiYro3UaV7B6e/view?usp=sharing

The dogfight where the problem occur is the first one vs another F18 at about 35 minutes of the track.

You can also find tacview report attached.

Many thanks!!

But did you fly through the path that he'd been on before he was far from you? As you know, those wakes linger for a fair bit. As said, a track will be best for diagnosis.

But should he be experiencing wake turbulence if it's turned off for that server?

Please see the attached tacview file in the reply to Bignewy at about 35 minutes

Never experienced a single turbolence in the last years since last week on that server. In the briefing turbolence is 0,3 m/s

Check the srv-info-changelog on the mob discord. It was definitely a wake turb you caught

It is turned off again.

I'll go out on a limb and assume that's weather turbulence, not wake turbulence.

According to the server information, wake turbulence is off for the server. (See picture) However, now that I'm thinking about it, I fly on that server often and distinctly remember feeling wake turbulence several times recently.

Yep, me too feeling wake turbulence several times only recently, about since last week and that explains why the problem didn't occurred since last patch was release in february, but only since last week 😀

Personally, I liked it and wish they left it on.

For sure it's the most realistic option, for me was important to understand what was happening 🙂

Guys...  wake turbulence was turned on stealthily for several days up to April fools thanks to  @Stackhouse.   It's off now.  But now that I know it screws up F-14s, maybe we should leave it on. lol.
