Would Heatblur consider re-naming Jester for the F-4E?

Not sure if anyone has asked about this or not.  While "Jester" is more than fitting for the F-14 given the Tomcat's pivotal role in Top Gun, honestly it doesn't make as much sense for the USAF F-4E variant that we're getting.  I wonder if Heatblur would consider re-naming the new Jester version for the F-4E to something like "Chuck" (after Chuck DeBellevue for example).  It might be harder to do than I imagine, but I figured I'd suggest it.  If nothing else they can think about it.

Man, you guys are so annoying. LET JESTER BE JESTER. after all, the F-14 will receive the same Jester 2.0 as the Phantom.

What a silly thing to complain about.  His name is never even said out loud in game anyways, it's just a label on the control wheel and a better way to refer to the system instead of something bland like "the backseat AI".  No one is stopping you from calling him whatever you want.  It's a program that just so happens to be named Jester, and it'll be called Jester in every single two-seater aircraft Heatblur make, including the A-6 and naval F-4.  No reason to change it.

See, IronMike, is a tribute to the Top Gun Jester. It comes from Micheal Ironside.

But we never said that JESTER, is a tribute to Top Gun. Even though it is fair enough to assume that.

off topic: top gun was a blessing for Kawasaki with the gpz900r sold a bucket load I owned one later in life for the time was a quick motorcycle 150 mph ish mine had been round the block or 2 and on a god day about 140 ish my current zzr1200 will eat it for breakfast lol.

There is a taco joint on the north side of Houston owned by the Dumas family. Not being too sharp on grammar and punctuation , they had a sign painted that read Dumas’s Tacos. 
 

Quite funny to see. Instead of repainting the sign, they made up an elaborate backstory instead. 
 

This reminds me of Dumbass Tacos.

This is quite funny to me as well.

This reminds me of the time I was told being irritated about delays meant poor people shouldn't play DCS and that talking about it was childish.  Funny the different things people think are acceptable and proper to make complaints about.  Missed timelines and delays, or the name of a fictional character in a video game being the same as another fictional character from a movie.

I was expecting a different voice and name but I guess it was easier for HB to build on what they had already as it was a lot of work doing the first Jester.

“Jester” isn’t a person, it’s a system.

Similar to how pilots refer to any autopilot, from a simple single axis wing leveler to a triple redundant, CATIII Autoland capable auto flight system as “George”.

We coded him from the ground up, entirely.

But rerecording by now some 13.000 + voice lines, would have easily added another 2 years to the development.

However we added lots of new voicelines fitting the F-4.

Actually Jester offers to fly with Maverick... suggesting he was indeed a RIO... just saying...  and he flew F-4's (with his dad).  So is it that crazy?

On a related note, i've heard in some of the youtube previews that he tends to come out with outbursts fairly often, ie "Goddamn man, too fast!". Will "silence jester" option remove chit chat and outbursts leaving just mission specific, or silence completely?

Silence will typically null all calls. 

However - part of them coding it from the ground up was a complete re-write to allow customization.  You can know use a text-editor to change or modify his behaviors as you see fit.  Don't like the outburts?  Go in and remove them.  There will be tutorials on how to do this.

What command do I use to open the Jester menu?

So you really can name him anything you want.  I was considering using "Willie" for the F-4E but now I'm thinking

"Chuck" might be more appropriate for a USAF Phantom
