As some of you mentioned the lack of Royal Navy vessels with DCS world, and I posted a picture of a Type 42 batch 3 destroyer within the Admirals thread.

I wasn't planning on releasing, but decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a go.

The Type 42 Btch 3 ( extended hull) will come with :
Sea- Dart surface to air missile sysytem
2 x Phalanx CIWS
2 x 20mm Oerlikon
1 x Mk8 4.5 " Deck gun

4 vessels of the batch 3's will be available
HMS Edinburgh
HMS Manchester
HMS York
HMS Gloucester

There's

She can support Helo's up to the size of Merlins.

There's a basic damage model, so she can take damage and can sink.

Beldin has been working on the lua, as there was an issue with the missiles not launching, and the scale of the seperate sea dart on the launcher wrong.

Textures are not the best, they were fine for me for what I was using her for ( eye candy)

The attached screens may have different Ships numbers so disregard.

I will look to release once ED fix the coding for the missiles

Looks good, though the 1022 should have a rectangular profile, as here it kinda looks like an AN/SPS-49.

Please use the red Sea Dart missiles on at least one of the ships🙂. I either never had it or never saw it while testing🤦‍♂️.

The red Sea Dart missiles are drill rounds for training, they have inert propulsion, no warhead and no guidance. Warshots are mostly white, with black stripes.

You're no fun. 😂 ,I figured that was the case but I was hoping I was wrong. The red ones just look so cool 😂

Thanks for the info👍

Yeah, afraid so.

If you look at the drill round, you can see that the intake is blanked over, you can also see that there are antennas on the warshot's control surfaces that are missing on the drill round (though I'm not sure if the interferometer array on the nose is a dummy). Also note the different coloured stripes (and the lack of a stripe for the warhead section):

Really pleased to see this ship. I think you and I discussed at length in one of the Razbam posts about their lack of naval assets following the release of their South Atlantic map.

As you say, there are a lot of Royal Navy ships that could be included in game, thankfully, yourself and others like Admiral are taking great steps towards fixing this. Very much appreciated.

Difficult to do when D88 is HMS Glasgow, a Batch 1 Falklands veteran. Is there possibly a Batch 1/2 in the works ?

This screen was before I checked as to which shops were batch 3's 😄

Batch 1.. only if I can find a decent model, then yeah, there's not much difference weapons wise (sans Phoenix CIWS)

@Northstar98 yeah radars are noted, It's what was on the model.

Thanks to @Admiral189 for the donation of the correct radar, the Type 42 is looking better.

Beldin has done an excelent job of editing the luas.

Bear in mind this model was never UV mapped, the textures are hit and miss, that being said, I like them ! 😄

Just a few minor cosmetic things to fix, and should be good for a release next month.

Really looking forward to the official release. She's a fine ship Sir 🫡.

And many thanks to the Admiral and Currenthill. My contributions to this ship is just an extension of their work🫡

Looks like the last patch fixed the smoke stacks in Multi Thread, now I need to go back and fix all my ship models ... 😄

I also need to figure out why the Sea-Darts are not scaled properly ... @Beldin ? any ideas mate >

No, I was hoping you solved that😄. But I'll look this weekend. I can't recall if the Sea Dart edm, from the SA module or custom model.

Oban - Sea Darts sizes

I think other ships also have Sea Darts fitted, it could be a conflict with the edm's.   Have a look at other ships to see if any of them have a Sea Dart edm in them and that might be your problem.

I think I got it🧑‍🔬

removing this line seemed to do it.

GT_t.WS_t.Type42_SeaDart.moveable = false

But I also changed some names, so thanks Crazyeddie for the idea

Or, I think it might have been coded without the booster before🤔

Oban  I have encountered such a problem when making models, where missile models have scaling phenomenon in the game. Finally, it was discovered that the coordinate axis (XYZ) used to locate the missile launch position in 3dmax had been accidentally scaled. Please replace it with a new coordinate axis and take a look. I am looking forward to your MOD very much

@Oban Is there any news on this? Really hoping we will be seeing it soon. Best wishes.

Hello all, apologies for the lack of updates and release, got tied up with work issues, and a family bereavement recently so didn't have much time to get this squared away.

I will work on it this week, not sure what the last update broke, there's bound to be something !! LOL

Some bad news,
My laptop died a death all of a sudden, (catastrophic motherboard failure) and with it pretty much all my raw files and textures that I've worked on for the past 5 years.

As it stands now, there's 10% chance of some files being recovered, yeah I had some files backed up on a separate drive, but I'm without a working laptop, and the last one cost me £1600 only in January, I cannot afford to replace this right now, as I have to wait for the full report.
I maybe able to claim on purchase insurance with my bank, but that's going to take a while..

Until then, everything is on hold, and possibly if it's not good news with file recovery, then I honestly don't know if I have the time and effort to begin everything again from scratch..
