RAlt+\ no longer works for communications

For years RAlt+\ was the functioning keybind for radio communications, with \ only functioning for ground crew while on the ground in the Mosquito, other warbirds, and all other modules across DCS.

Now RAlt+\ is not functioning in the Mossie despite having an audible click when pressed, and \ has become the default radio communications menu.

It's swapped you mean?

Partially, I suppose. I haven't tried hailing ATC to listen for a response, however RAlt+\ does not bring up the comms menu despite the PTT switch in the cockpit being animated as pressed (and the radio light going off until released).

I checked the P-51 and P-47 as well, same problem. In the jet modules comms work as advertised.

Ah, I see. Haven't tried any WWIIs yet, and I use VAICOM so didn't notice any problems yet.

Cheers!

It works for you with the VAICOM PTT bound to RAlt+\? I haven't used VAICOM since we got the commands to cycle through the comms menu, but for me when I press RAlt+\ the PTT switch moves, receive/transmit light indicates transmission, I hear a click, but no comms menu ever pops up.

The Mossie manual still says RAlt+\ for realistic communications as well.

Found the problem:

Update enabled Easy Comms by default.

@NineLine why are updates messing with user settings like this? Our settings should remain untouched by updates.

VAICOM doesn't use keybinds at all.

Mine does....the PTT on my HOTAS has to be mapped to the same as the PTT in-game or it won't work.

I promise. No, VAICOM doesn't use either keybinds nor the radio menu. That's why tracks won't work with it. If you have to bind your TX switches in VAICOM to the same in game PTT keybinds, something is definitely wrong with your VAICOM setup. And it's even not recommended to do so, due to potential conflicts. I'll be happy to sort you out!
Cheers!

oh wow, I did. so weird, never enabled it myself.

Bug caused by the new launcher, it seems. I disabled the launcher and everything's been good so far.

I had the same problem: Easy Communication enabled after the last update. This has already happened in earlier updates, and not only with this option; thus I'm not sure it was the new launcher.
As I had often seen my options changed by updates, I created my own launcher that restores my settings into "options.lua". Plus allows me to select a monitor set-up depending on what  want to fly.

I removed easy comms just now and still not able to get atc to respond to my comms. I did a lot of troubleshooting today and feel like something wrong with the key binds I have - I can hear the ATC default comms when tunned into the right station on the receiver when i roll out without calling them but tried everything to contact them via the transmitter but never receive a response to my comms using the lalt / keybind or cockpit push button.

update -

I got it thanks - turned off the launcher - also turned off the voip and turnservers.

Hi! You are actually able to open the radio menu? What does it say above it? Can you snatch a screenshot? It should say the name of the radio, and NOT communication menu.

EDIT: Re-read your post. You specifically write that you use LAlt + /, and not RAlt + \. Is that correct and not a typo?

@Drunken Leprechaun Had to test this. You are correct. Can't radios to work in the Mossie myself with the correct keystroke/keybind. Seems it defaults to Easy Comms on for me. Tested an IA mission, so it's got nothing to do with this campaign. Better to report it as a bug with a track.

To quick. Need to test more. The Launcher had turned on Easy Comms again.
