Uhm, so... slight question here:

I don't recall Wags ever having specifically said in his videos that 'this was the procedure as of current date'. What is that all about? Does he lowkey expect the workings of the CH-47 might change within the next few weeks? Or does that mean it might change in DCS, which would worry me as well, as it would mean none of the SMEs or manuals have been consulted and we are literally weeks from EA release? The whole 'switches work like the real thing' is literally the one avenue that DCS always shines in, despite a few previous hiccups. Or maybe, and this would of course be preferable, is mentioning the current date just a newly introduced feature to these videos so they don't get too confusing as further development of the more advanced systems happens?

Per previous posts, they had been holding off on posting videos because of only wanting to do them once since some of the functionality and features (e.g. some cockpits gauges in this case with the cockpit views) needed to be fixed first.  Original plan was concurrent or just after release but this is likely due to the backlash, and his wording could be construed as a 'legal disclaimer' that stuff is going to change.

Yes he has said that in the past, and of course things will probably change as features are added and or/changes are made due to input from SME's etc.

Start up procedure has changed to one degree or another on other modules already during continued development. 🙂

Not looked too in-depth yet, but suggested edits:

  • Overhead - PTU's on with APU before ECU start (We want to hear them squeal)
  • Overhead - TQ share
  • Centre - Parking brake on
  • Centre - LPI is missing?
  • Please move the Blades, they should never be parked like that, rather they will be off centre, see my rough scribble

I guess that was in regard to an teaser Wags once did in a familiarization video years ago.

Outgunned, outnumbered, though never outclassed!!!

Thanks for clearing that up. I think I missed the inclusion because it was mostly F-16 videos which I didn't watch, and I perhaps also just missed it once in something else. Alas, as another thread touted the publication of the 'early access guide' we are probably nearing EA-Release.

In the Quick Start guide that was just released, the startup checklist includes the following:

LOAD SHARE switch - TRQ

PWR XFER 1 and 2 switches - ON (after APU start)

This is a video to get you hot to trot on release... which is soon...ish.

Nothing detailed, just wheels up on release ASAP and feel the airframe airborne.

The next, planned CH-47F video is taxi and takeoff, but we're still tuning the pull power into a hover flight model handling, and I want to see this tweaked before I create this next video. How the Hook behaves is quite a bit different than all other DCS aircraft except perhaps the Ka-50.

I think we have to wait another 3 Weeks, as it is Holiday time in many Countries. 🌴🏝✈

Holiday = more time for DCS 😃

I don't see the issue 😅
