Thank you sir. Sadly, my job now has me building interior scenes so I have to leave aircraft behind for probably a long time. It's a bit of a bummer.

The A-10 is probably the most complex modelling task I have done so far although I have been working on a B-17 interior off and on for the last six years that is truly cool. I just wish I could find the time to finish the darn thing.

Thanks joey45.

One nice thing about posting those two links above is that it caused me to look closely at some of my old screenshots. I noticed that my B-17 interior shots were \ are way out of date. Here are some new screengrabs. The top turret in particular is now much improved. In my old design you might have been able to fit a large male chimp in there. At this point I think only a rhesus monkey will fit.

What amazes me is how crowded with items these wartime B-17s were. They were filled with a crapload of stuff. Hell, they even had cup dispensers in these things (I'm convinced there is a Starbucks coffee shop somewhere in a corner of the ball turret). The B-17s you see flying today are really stripped. They have to have room for paying passengers. I have about 5000 pages of B-17 tech manuals and as a result dozens of pages of notes covering things I need to build (the radio room and rear section of the plane) in addition to more changes and additions in areas I have already built.

I hope to have the B-17G interior done before the beginning of the next century. It has already taken me longer than the entire length of World War II just to reach this point. Actually, in reality what I have done represents a few months of work. It's just that it's spread out over 6 years.

By the way, if you want to see much larger versions of those layout pages head on out to the following link:

http://www.pbase.com/paulw/layout_pages

Make sure to pick "original" for the size. The originals on my site are still way smaller than my true originals.

That's enough. I'm not posting anymore in this thread.

Hi Justvisiting

I was stunned to see your work.

They are all absolutely wonderful.

It would be nice to be able to include in the DCS B17 mod.

Sincere congratulations.

Mario.

might even have to restart it from scratch.... well it did have about 14 refits before India got her so getting good reference photos isn't that easy ... :book:

Watch the mods forum..............

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."
