manually chaff/flare command missing

Hi

Just noticed the button on the cyclic stick for chaff/flare manual release isn't mapped.

I am not sure what you are reported, that they are not auto-mapped for you? Simply mapping them fixes any issues. Not everything will be mapped as there are so many combos of HOTAS' out there.

I search for flares in the control menu, found nothing. 

Here a screen from the cyclic stick grip control page, can youtell me where the command is?

it's the cmds_up_press and cmds_down_press command. I thought it was a single button.

Looks like it’s tied to the default language settings

mine works, can't remember the names used, but mine works, the chaff and flares work on demand, although I have not tested them in combat yet

Yes. Mine always have proper names for each function. Would be virtually impossible to bind everything if they didn't.

Still away so not installed the Chinook yet though.

You must have a different DCS than I do. 

I can’t give examples without looking into it but there are lots of things on different modules that are listed as one thing but named differently in the inputs page.

My chaff and flares work too. As GR found, they’re the cmds_up_press etc bindings. I expected ‘dispense flare’ or something.

Not sure what to say mate. I must have 20? modules, and all of them have proper English text in the Action column

The OP's screenshot just shows variable names, compared with Nealius's screenshot that has proper text.

My original comment was aimed at how odd the OP's screenshot looked.

If you meant the English text is sometimes misleading, well I can agree with you there

In which language do you are? Because I set it up in english, because in french I had no update of the news since 2022...

Strangely , I'm still in french, now despite changing it in the lang.cfg.

Edit: just found out that now you can choose your language in the MISC. menu. No more need to use the lang.cfg. Seems the command aren't name in the french version. Thanks for that clue.
