fixed Strange artifacting after todays patch.

Strange effects in the new clouds after todays patch. I've tried loads of different settings but it seems to remain no matter what.

I´m seeing the same "noise" on some clouds, specially on the preset Broken 3

Yup, I am seeing exactly the same. I assumed it was mods so disabled all of them. Was also using Matts Varjo Foveated so also disabled that, issue still persists. I was testing on Caucasus ready on the ramp in the Hornet. This seems to be a base game issue. Related to fog and lighting changes possibly? This is in VR for me, have not tried in 2D.

@BIGNEWY So this is the Instant Action for F-16 on Caucasus. Is using Broken 3 option. Changing weather preset to any other AFAIK doesnt make that noise on clouds.

You can see at first how several clouds are catching noise and after changing position and height the noise vanish

Wierd but ive not seen this, flew Kola and Syria but without pre-sets, used manual cloud settings and no artifacts!

Try the Hornet, Caucasus ready on the ramp, fly toward cloud and it'll be obvious. I'm using DLAA, not sure if that has any relevance.

Im using MSAA so is interesting , the noise is not AA filtering dependant, but it seems cloud preset changes are.

Not had a chance to test, but I wonder if cloud quality settings have any bearing? I'm currently running “HIGH”

I also get black flashing in the cockpit. As I sit in the cockpit, everything flashes black continuously, as soon as I hit F11 and move away from the cockpit, the flashing stops.

Try other presets apart from Broken 3. Didnt tested to much but on the F-16 quick mission-free flight, using other presets i didnt see any noise

This looks like a layering issue of some kind. I have had a similar thing happen in Unreal Engine with the way the order of layers are rendered

First the big black squares in VR and now this. I don't find what you're doing funny anymore. 

The updates just make everything worse and unplayable! Thanks.

So I've done a bit more testing with different weather presets. I tried all the "Broken" presets and the only one which gave this issue was "Broken 3" I also tried all the "Overcast" presets and none of they gave this issue. I've not tried all the other presets but it seems there is something specific about "Broken 3" that gives this issue.

I'm sure it will get fixed, just a bit odd it wasn't picked up in testing. It's not game breaking tbh.

@BIGNEWY   appreciate you're likely fielding a bunch of issues at present, but would be great to know when you’ve managed to reproduce and report to the team?

Thanks a lot testing all presets. Thats also my experience.

I have a very crazy suggestion: if you experience the said problem, if you have not installed the (excellent) Weather Mod, give it a shot to see if it fixed the problem or not. If not, uninstall it.

Have not tested with the latest patch - but bandits cloud system and settings are way beyond ED, so much so its actually embarrassing.

They should be looking at that, like they did with Massun's 92 assets and be including it into the base game, one so it can be on and enjoyed without it being limited to SP (breaks IC) and also to increase the rather drab settings that we have with the "new" weather system, 2 years on.

But it will fall on deaf ears.
