All the lengthy guides of the past weeks can be ignored? I tried the suggestion in the recent couple of pages, it works. 1. Get the latest NVIDIA gaming driver, it is also recommended for VD users; 2. Get the NVPI (I think I get the developer right): https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector 3. Start the NVPI and perform the settings as seen in this post BTW, you may wish to also make changes to the ultra low latency and power management settings en route. 4. Of course, don't forget to select DLSS in the upscaling in DCS. That's, yes, that's. I don't have to make a video about it. Edited February 23 by VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants I Fly, Therefore I Am. markturner1960 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 OK & just to clarify: I am using version 2.4.0.16 of inspector. Here is my settings, in common, it says "Forced DLSS3.1 preset letter K". We are talking about DLSS 4 here arent we, so why does it say 3.1? Secondly, how do I get rid of the annoying text in my VR FoV - its some kind of debug info, says Preset K etc...... Wali763 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Short response from my side after some testing. Even Im leaning towards AMD, since Nvidia to me just is utterly anti-consumer company (false promises (5070 has 4090 perf), fake MSRP and skyhigh prices etc) I do have a 4090 since AMD f.. up with their 7xxx generation VR-wise. At least until I got my 4090 midsummer 2023. Up to now I used MSAA 2x since DLAA was way to blurry for me. So no upscaling for me. After testing DLSS 4 as shown here, I have to admit, Ill give it a try now. First of all, there is almost no visible perf difference for me with DLSS4 Quality and my standard no-upscaling with MSAA 2x. I saw a decrease of 0,3ms frametime in my test-scenario. DLSS3 offered about 1 ms less, wich is pretty much IMO. But it all was too blurry/soft for me. But using DLSS4 now, the previous slight shimmering is gone, while still resembling sharpness of my former no-upscaling with MSAA 2x. Looking outside some objects look even sharper (using 0,8 sharpening right now) The only thing still looking worse is the radar scanning bar on the DDI in the F-18 . But this also has gotten much better then with DLSS 3. I dont assume to get problems with ghosting, since Im on 90fps on the G2 most of the time. But I will need to check that too. Anyway, DLSS4 for me offers some visible gains while up to now only showing minor drawbacks. So I will keep it on for sure. Edit: after installing the latest Nv-driver 572.47 I got problems while booting Win10. Went back to 572.16. No problems since doing that, but this still needs some monitoring I guess Edited February 23 by Wali763
motoadve Posted February 25 Posted February 25 When we update Nvidia drivers, do we need to do anything with regards of DLSS4?

Install the latest Nvidia driver (don't install the Nvidia app) Install the latest Nvidia Profile Inspector (https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector) Select the Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark profile in the dropdown and then in the Common section enable DLSS - Enable DLL Override and set the DLSS - Forced Preset Letter to Always use latest (the latest is K, so try that and J which are the most common at the moment to see which one you prefer) To tell if it's working (although you should see a notable difference anyway): Download and unpack DLSSTweaks (https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/550) No need to copy any files into DCS, just run the DLSSTweaksConfig.exe file At the bottom of it set the GlobalHudOverride to Enable (All DLLs) and then click Save Start DCS and jump in a plane. Some people say they only see it in 2D but there should be a hud overlay at the bottom left of the screen. Verify the DLSS version, starts with 310., and that the preset is K or J (whatever you chose to use). If you install a newer Nvidia driver later confirm in NVPI that it kept your settings, you may need to reapply them again. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
Dunska Posted February 28 Posted February 28 You don't need DLSSTweaks to show the DLSS Hud, just use the registry settings: Set manually or copy this into a .reg file and run it. For me I only see it in 2D, so I run it in 2D to check. DLSS Hud On: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore] "ShowDlssIndicator"=dword:00000400 DLSS Hud Off: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore] "ShowDlssIndicator"=dword:00000000 1
