Not at all, you can install the stand-alone and do the trials with the same DCS account. We cannot do the trial system on Steam. Also this is off-topic for this thread.

I moved this to wishlist, the Su-25A is something we have been working on improving and decided to make it free.

The F-15C all work is going into the FF version, it will not improve the FC version, we are not planning on giving that away right now as that is a high-value item for the FC pack.

The Su-27 is also high value and we have not announced any changes or improvements to this model yet.

Stand-alone uses up the same amount of disk space, just delete the Steam version before you install the stand-alone.

what for? both versions are identical from a Sim perspective (only difference I can see is the lack of the Module Manager on the Steam version) .. there is not a single reason to have both installs at the same time.

Oh, I agree! While some users prefer to run it through Steam. Hence the reference to disk space.

If the free trials are something you really want, you can always convert your Steam modules to stand-alone.

Yeah, I know, being pedantic. You cannot convert the licences. You can bind your Steam account, which enables the licenses in Standalone, and disables them in Steam. While you can revert at any time.

If you take a look at number of user missions created for Mig-29 and A-10A, even for new maps, you find they are very close to Eagle and Flankers.

Mentioned earlier low number of posts on forum about Fulcrum, rather suggest, there were no issues with this module over time, while in the past, and currently we had little wars over things that were broken in Flanker and Eagle. Same can be said about some FF modules, feature nearly complete and bugs free, dont get people attention on forum that much, but amount of content availble, for each module is real measure of popularity.

Yes, but beginners don't immediately learn about mods in DCS. When I got more or less used to it, and spent the trial periods on helicopters, I wanted to practice more. It would be great if DCS would let you try out all its components: WWII planes, jets and helicopters.

Huey, Apache, Hind, Ka-50 and Mi-8. That's 10 weeks of free helicopter flight, and yet you want more for free.

Aaand when you've made your second install of DCS, now the standalone, you might as well transfer your DCS Steam licenses over to the standalone version. I works like a charm.

And each of them has a unique flight model, just starting to get used to one, it's hard to transfer to another. Only the Mi-8 and Mi-24 are somewhat similar, but even there there are significant differences. I want to practice on something specific. I was lucky to get a discount on Hind when I tested it. But not everyone is so lucky.

And don't forget about Steam users.

Totally disagree. Could wip the Kiowa around exactly how I wanted on release. The trials are to make you interested in one. Not to learn one.

That is true. Could cold start the Hind by heart the first time, and it was really easy to fly.

You realize the idea behind the free trial is that you eventually buy the module, not just get a continually free game. If you want to get better at flying any of these the best way is to buy them.

So you basically want free stuff. Understandable, and that's not the way ED make money. They want yours.

While I can understand your desire to freeload (so do I); when we become adults we understand TANSTAAFL.
