Popular Post MAESTR0 Posted March 14 Popular Post Posted March 14 (edited) Hallo! Wie geht's? We are pleased to present our new project — the Cold War map, which will take you to Central Europe during the confrontation between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Expect historical accuracy, unique locations, and the atmosphere of the era! Central Europe was the epicenter of the Cold War. We recreated the key locations of this period and tried to convey the atmosphere of that time, and we have big plans for this territory. Take a look at the first screenshots of the Cold War map. On this map, you will find historically accurate locations, including Berlin — a symbol of the Cold War, divided by a wall, dense forests of the Fulda Gap, key airfields and military bases. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the era when the world was balancing on the brink of a global conflict. Stay tuned — there is still a lot of interesting things ahead! We are just getting started. Tomorrow we will tell you about some airfields and opportunities for you. Let's start, of course, with Berlin — a symbol of the Cold War The Berlin Wall (Checkpoint Charlie). The wall that divided families, the nation and the world Barbed wire "decorated" the border area of Berlin Berlin at night. Look at the color of the street lighting in the western and eastern parts weiter... Fulda (here begins the Fulda Gap - the probable place of movement of the ground forces of the opposing sides) There are many military facilities located on the map. Military training areas Port of Hamburg Automobilwerk und natürlich Ramstein Air Base - the main NATO air base. You will be a frequent guest here ... or will this be your target The Brocken Transmitter on the Brocken, the highest mountain in Northern Germany Nun, tschüss! Edited March 15 by MAESTR0 63 22

maks Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) Goodevening Maestro, It looks fantastic! Been thinking about this map since Flanker days in 1995. I know it is too early to ask but do you think your team could/be able to full simulate the low countries? I see that now Belgium and the Netherlands will be half represented in phase 3 ? I myself live in Antwerp and all this time been hoping that one day the whole of the low countries could be in dcs! Both countries have a lot of useful F16/F35 base still more west and up north ….seems missed opportunity to not include them as it would mean only a small area should be added. thank you and your team for giving us these wonderful maps ! brgds Maks Edited March 15 by maks 3

Phantom453 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I'm so happy it's Urga-Media who have done this map. Those screenshots and tease videos are AMAZING!! Quite the buzz to instantly recognise several places I have visited in Germany. Such high quality and respect to Uga for often listening to the community to make their maps better/ more functional (e.g. the addition of Crete to the Syria map). To my mind, Urga really earnt their spurs with the Syria map. I'll buy this one in a heartbeat and I'm really looked forward to the phased additions to this map (my SSD, not so much ). Excellent work guys!! 4
C2705 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 why did you chose airfields like Herrenteich but not Heidelberg air field even though they are close to each other? 1
RVT2403 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 This looks fantastic guys! Can not wait to put my hands on this one. Thanks for making this reality! 4 -

I don’t claim to know the minds of the design team, but if I were them it would be obviously to draw the phase 3 border exactly where it is in order NOT to have to include Antwerp and Brussels, because of the amount of work it would take to include them. I don’t mean just size but also the uniqueness and variety of buildings. You need to draw the line somewhere 3 Spoiler Ryzen 9 5900X | 64GB G.Skill TridentZ 3600 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X570-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 960Pro 1TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero Pro Flight Trainer Puma | VIRPIL MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | Virpil CM3 throttle | Virpil CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | TPR rudder pedals OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings

gulredrel Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Grandiose Bilder, kann es kaum erwarten, auch wenn ich bis Phase 3 für Ostsachsen warten muss Awesome screenshots, can't wait to fly there, even I have to wait until phase 3 to get the eastern part of Saxony. 4 1
cfrag Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Wow! Ugra's Syria convinced me, Normy 2 made me a believer. It's difficult for me to convey my feelings (and probably too high expectations) for this map. I was born and raised in cold war Hamburg, served in the cold war (western) military (in Neumünster, Hamburg and occasionally, during NATO exercises, in some other Truppenübungsplätze in West Germany), met a fantastic girl from West Berlin (and visited her often), protected our side from the 'lousy communists' on the Harz side, and now can't wait to take a plane ride to my past. Good luck, and Godspeed, Ugra! 10 1
TheBiggerBass Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Klasse! Kann's kaum erwarten mit der F-16 im Tiefflug über Köln zu fliegen . cfrag Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Just now, TheBiggerBass said: Klasse! Kann's kaum erwarten mit der F-16 im Tiefflug über Köln zu fliegen Well, I didn't say so, but yeah, I'll take the Phantom to wake up my neighborhood and launch a missile into my elementary school, exactly as Calvin envisioned it in Watterson's seminal Comics. Spelling correct that, Frau Dröge! 7
BenBenBeartrax Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Words can not express how excited I am about this map! Not just because it is a Germany map AND I know how well optimized your guys' Syria map is now, but also because I have live here and have, for example, hiked to the listening post on the Brocken in the Harz mountains many times. 9 2
