Red_Camarada Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Hi everyone, I was playing with the spit in a multiplayer server today and noticed that the tail wheel were always pointing right inducing my plane to always turn to the left. When I apply brake to change the wheel direction it indeed changes direction but as soon as I release the brakes the wheel again starts to turn my plane to the left. I double checked my axis, and one friend is having the same issue, but in singleplayer the issue does not appear. Edited March 25 by Red_Camarada 1
Wroblowaty Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Spitfire has a free rotating tail wheel, that plus huge amount of torque from the engine-proppeler combo requires you to be gentle with throttle and to work with differential braking and rudder all the time while taxiing. Check in options menu if you have "rudder assist" turned on. If yes, than it will try to "do the job for you" in single player, but perhaps multiplayer servers force it off and than you see the difference. 1
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 25 ED Team Posted March 25 Hi, please include a track replay example maybe we can give you more advice other than what Wroblowaty has already kindly mentioned. Ive tested and I am not seeing any bug here and the steering is working as it should do. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ED Team NineLine Posted March 25 ED Team Posted March 25 It looks like you just need to balance the brakes and rudder a little better, it can be trickier than most warbirds as you have the 1 hand brake and then rudder deflection makes the difference on brake pressure left and right. There were times you were using the rudder with no brakes and vice versa. As for what is happening with MP, they only thing I can think of is the mission is forcing something on perhaps? Try another server or mission and see if you still have an issue, but I am not seeing anything on my end. 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

I tried another server launched on a friend's PC and same results. The main thing here is that I can taxi arround in singleplayer but in multiplayer is just go round and round while taxing Edited March 26 by Red_Camarada 1

Hotel Tango Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Had the same issue with the Spitfire on a multiplayer server. All assists off. HRP | Derby "Wardog, launch!"
-0303- Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Steering works fine for me, single player and multiplayer (Hoggit training). Ran both tracks (Red_Camarada), single + multi. Single ran straight, multi veered off left but watching control indicators right brake worked fine. Seems OP just didn't coordinate brake, steer, throttle. Took control of single player track. No problem steering. Never used assists. Kiwi_Viper Posted March 28 Posted March 28 spit and the mossie are the same principle there totally different than any other aircraft in that you cant steer them like a normal taildragger like -0303- says you have to be co-ordinated on the brake and rudder along with a little throttle where needed cant say ive ever had a problem with it but im used to tail draggers in real life so its probably easy to me. try using the throttle as you hit the rudder just a little once it starts to turn back off the gas, she does tend to turn one way easier than the other because of the prop torque Ryzen 7 7800x3D, MSI 4080 Super, 64GB DDR5 6000mhz, 2x 4TB & 1x 2TB nvme ssd. Baldrick33 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 I recall an issue with different control behaviour between missions in the Spitfire which was due to one mission being the clipped wing version and the other the normal wing. Both have their own folders for control settings. Could it be the missions use the different models? If so I will try to recall the solution.
