ED Team Graphics Posted May 23 ED Team Posted May 23 23 May 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, The recently added Quick Action Generator (QAG), allows players to easily construct simple missions based on the choice of aircraft, map, and mission. The QAG is not designed to replace the Mission Editor, but rather to provide a tool for players to construct simple missions without wading into the powerful, yet complex, Mission Editor. Please download the latest update to give it a go. We look forward to getting your feedback and to improving the experience and functionality. This month’s update provides several quality-of-life improvements. Our Terrain engine received several RAM and file handling speed optimizations. DLSS got updated to version 310.2.1.0 with all related improvements from it. We’ve also improved Voice Chat connection stability and did several aircraft AI fixes. For all tweaks you may read the full changelog. The VIRPIL Controls BFM Cup is a weekend-based guns-only dogfight tournament held over the Caucasus map that is open to nine fighters. Register at virpil-servers.com for a chance to win a VIRPIL FLNKR grip, store credit, and a DCS module. Hurry, sign-ups close soon! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Quick Action Generator Overhauled feature One of the main barriers for new DCS pilots is creating gameplay content. Although the Mission Editor is very powerful, it can be complex and time-consuming to learn. To mitigate this, the QAG offers a convenient and quick way to generate simple missions based on a few, simple selections. It allows players to experiment with all DCS aircraft, across all eras and maps, over a variety of mission types. Quick Action Generator Key Features Rapid and simple content generation compared to the Mission Editor. Capability to construct missions based on all your DCS aircraft and maps with a high degree of mission customization. Supports World War II era to modern day. Scale missions from just a couple of aircraft to multiple flights and ground force groups. Aircraft, ground units, and ships can be sorted into groups based on their historical era. Manually select enemy and allied aircraft and set them as targets and supporting flights. Option to modify and select aircraft loadouts. Ability to change and select aircraft liveries. User Interface built upon the F10 map to facilitate unit placements. Optimised AI behavior for all difficulty levels. Adjust the location and orientation of forces on the QAG map. Option to add and remove air, land, and sea targets: Configuring up to 4 (four) aircraft in a flight. Set distance, altitude, and loadout options. Add escort flights for appropriate Missions. Add air defenses to protect targets. Add or remove wingmen and set their skill level. On first launch the generator loads the last map and aircraft used. Formations assignments for flights of up to four units, both allied and enemy. The QAG adds a new capability for DCS that is aimed at both new DCS players to generate unlimited content, but also provide a tool for veteran players to test new tactics, try out new sensors and weapons, and practice before entering a match. We look forward to your valuable feedback. DCS Update Development Progress DCS Core We continue to improve mission loading and performance in both 2D and VR thanks to improved asset loading from memory. Several visual issues have been addressed. DLSS has been updated to version 310.2.1.0, and voice-chat client-server architecture was improved for better connection stability. Aircraft Al behaviour got updated for tankers to be able to fly at lower speeds and tweaks for cases where formation losing leader or wingmen, and JTAC messages now include a wider range of weapons. Please read the full changelog. Data Transfer Cartridge The DTC interface received an update that fixes crashes tied to custom CMDS files, track-replay corruption, and mismatched countermeasure parameters. Default profiles now load reliably, COMM presets respect guard frequencies, the tool now sits beneath other UI layers, and it can be closed with the Esc. key. Eagle Dynamics Modules This update saw F/A-18C SA and AUTO EW-page options corrected, TWS HOTAS azimuth selection quirks have been fixed, and adjustments were made to the HMD cross for wide-angle VR users. F-16C improvements include a number of radar adjustments, saving targeting pod contrast when leaving the TGP page, and several CMDS and COMM fixes. AH-64D saw fixes to FUEL CHECK alignment, FCR stowage, HMD cue projections, and auxiliary tanks. The CH-47F benefited from cold-weather engine tuning, reduced IR signatures, corrected rotor parking and new liveries for Spain, Iran, South Korea and Canada. The F-5E beacon lights now illuminate correctly. Third-Party Modules JF-17 Thunder received radar logic improvements, refreshed MFCD HPT data, and progress on the new TWS EXP mode. The Cold War Germany Map received improved power-lines, corrected taxiways, refined icon placement, and radio/beacon frequencies and model error fixes. Additionally, helipads are now tree-free and route/resource optimisations have been made to improve frame-time consistency across the battlefield. 1v1 Gun only Showdown VIRPIL Controls BFM Cup This 1v1 BFM Cup is hosted by VIRPIL Controls, along with support from the DCS Dogfighters and the Virtual Pilot communities. exhausted Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) This leaves a bit to be desired. For one, why can't the Harrier be used to dogfight MiG-29s and Su-27s by default? I am slaying those fighters in the ME, but I am restricted to C-101s and L-39s in the QAG. Not even Su-25s are in there. So, then I went to try a bomber escort mission with Harriers providing escort (a real mission they could do) and the opposition is too weak. Can you add credible opponents, regardless of what you decided would be most appropriate on the first iteration of the QAG? Edited May 23 by exhausted
WolfCat Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) Quick Action Generator Not quick or rapid at all, because it starts by immediately generating a map it assumes i want to use, and it takes time. This may be a mistake. First it should allow me to select parameters, including the map, and then take the time to generate whatever it does, no? Havent had the chance to dive deeper, but apart from the startup, it seems better than the old one. primus_TR Posted May 24 Posted May 24 I could not find a specific place to report QAG bugs, so here goes: Cannot select F4E in any era (Coldwar I, II or Modern). Neither available as player or AI. 1

This seems to be a bit faster as the regenerate button.
draconus Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I have run the QAG once and I don't get it. It started with my last used PG map. I set my action options and clicked Generate. It then moved my starting and enemy postitions to completely different place on PG map, only then I was able to click Save and play. It lacks options and I find it harder than ME to use. Of course assuming knowing ME already. 6 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

(i.e. - it remembered the last map, mission, Red/Blue force unit numbers, weather, time, aircraft, wingman number, etc...) Gunfreak Posted Sunday at 09:12 AM Posted Sunday at 09:12 AM I do hope ED plans on making US/Japanese infantry, I understand they are probably waiting for the new infantry modeles/animation stufff for infantry, before making more types if infantry. But those Island battles in the Pacific were mostly infantry based combat. And so not being able to have realistic scenarios because of lack of infantry would be a huge let down. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
nooneyouknow Posted Sunday at 04:11 PM Posted Sunday at 04:11 PM Yeh, prefer the old CFM. The new one is slow, frustrating, and frankly not ready for prime-time. Would have been better as a beta release. Any way to go back to the old one? 3
