I think there's a lot of misunderstanding here... M3 is working on its PTO assets pack, and ED is working on its own. We're talking about two different products and different teams. I'm betting that while ED will put its support packages in its own directory, as the WW2 assets pack, the M3 one, they'll be within the F4-U directories, not in the ED "core" directories.

I doubt anything will be tied to the module ownership. SA assets are free for all in DCS core.

Obviusly I read the whole thing and Tromso, ICAO code ENTC is not one of the five airports that will come in 3-6 months. There is nothing to asume about that, they have written it in plain text.

In most of the named towns and villages in Sweden you wont find any 3d buildings at all either, despite it beeing quite central on the map.

From what we know:

  • Magnitude3 is responsible for some of the WW2 PTO Assets (Essex carrier, ground vehicles, possibly Zero AI),
  • the ED team is responsible for some of them (Enterprise carrier, other ships, other planes, possible static objects),
  • the assets with planes and ships will be paid (according ED news).

It is possible that you need to have Corsair to have the assets from Magnitude (according me, something like with SA map, however some Magnitudes model are on ED’s newspaper as payware option so the second option - only payware addon).

 

If there is a Pacific Assets Pack and it's payware it's fine by me. As long as the toys are high quality I don't mind paying for them.

Well I be fine with asset pack and both Hellcat and Corsair. But to me it is a mystery that either one of them could not be replaced by a player controlled Zero. 
I like both US fighters but if one got to choose I would replace either one of those with a zero

Well my guess is that we might end up getting one if the PTO takes off. Meaning people buying the Corsair, Hellcat, Assets pack, if they are campaigns developed for it and so on.

I try to be, too. But I am discouraged by the state CH 47 has been in a long time. 
At the same time optimistic based on Germany map. I feel a bit schizophrenic about the whole thing

We need remember the M3 PTO assets pack has no confirmed by M3 will be into the ED "PTO WW2 assets pack", that will be diferent free pack into F4U module. About a "controled" Zero, that required build from scrach a FF module, and Neither ED nor M3 have confirmed any Zero modules, nor are either of them stopping development on any of their projects.

What's your point? I don't own SA map and I'm not missing any assets because they are in DCS core, no matter what folder they are in.

Mi point is you require install a previously 3rd party product before you acess to that assets pack, that no magicaly appears on a DCS Vanilla version.

My understanding is that only the first few units would be free. While later assets would require you to buy the SA map. But that doesn't really matter now. Since we probably won't see any more SA based assets.

Correct, although everything is possible 😉. The month is not over but the chances are decreasing. Earlier there was supposed to be a video of Wags about the Sniper. If it does appear, it probably means that Sniper will be in the next patch, but there is no video yet

I'm less excited about the sniper pod then I was. It doesn't appear to be any major advantage over the lightning  we have. A bit better zoom and resolution perhaps. But smaller FOV.  And no major improvements in features. 

From what little I've found online about the lightning vs sniper
