PLEASE! When do we get the new soldier model - They were first shown a couple of years back, they have been appearing in all subsequent promotional videos, they are now in Wags latest Afgan video, surely they must be ready for release now? They are so needed to make all of the new maps more realistic.

Visit the Dangerdogz at www.dangerdogz.com. We are a group based on having fun (no command structure, no expectations of attendance, no formal skills required, that is not to say we can not get serious for special events, of which we have many). We play DCS and IL2 GBS. We have two groups one based in North America / Canada and one UK / Europe. Come check us out.

Uncheck the historical switch on the bottom of the screen and the units will appear. I've seen all of them already in the editor.

It is indeed a bug with the clock switch for historical units being checked on, perhaps.

Thank you so much ED, for this wonderful patch and for your continued hard work to improve DCS. Yes, sometimes there is a problem, but lately, after every patch I always have a great desire to fly. Thanks again.

Nice update. It's fantastic that Currenthill's add-ons are slowly but surely making their way into DCS. It's an absolutely brilliant decision. I've also been waiting a long time for the MSI update for the Hornet and I'm glad to finally see that we're on the right track with it. DCS Afghanistan is now quite nice to look at thanks to the latest update, which gives me hope for future progress of the Iraq map. Overall, there have been some nice improvements recently, which I'll honor with the purchase of the MiG-29. Good work deserves it. With that in mind, please keep up the good work, and above all, please make sure the MiG-29 is an absolute blast upon release...🤙

Two questions on F/A-18C MSI please

1. release notes mentions AWACS - shouldn't all donors on TNDL network provide tracks for MSI? Is this coming in the future?

2. great transparency with known issues, but wouldn't it be better to complete the MSI with quality even if it takes another 3+ months? What is the reason to push it out now?

Open up the comms menu, open Ground Crew ... , select Rearm & Refuel. Then in the lower left lower corner of the GUI you see the Cargo button for loading, and on the right lower corner of the GUI you see the Cargo button unloading, considering you are in the vicinity of cargos (Static objects -> Cargos).

I believe so, yes. That is also my understanding of the overall system. But we will see in a future video where exactly ED is going with this...

Thanks for the update and the Currenthill assets I also might start flying Afghanistan again.

However no fix again for the CH47 CDU issues, this is the second patch that has not included a fix for this annoying bug 😞

@BIGNEWY Now that we have dynamic cargo for all helos, are there plans (hopefully for the near future) for cargo to have at least semi realistic values?

Meaning, one ammo crate transportable by Huey can't realistically fit 100 AMRAAMs inside nor should the weight be the same if we transport 1 missile or 100, but that's what we have right now. If it could be adjusted, that would be really welcome change.

Main reason I'm asking is C-130 that's coming soon:tm: will have that capability, so is this something you are collaborating on and if not, could you? For the gameplay purposes it ofc doesn't have to be 100% realistic, but at least adjusting the transported cargo weight to account for what are we actually transporting would be a huge change and will bring the whole cargo gameplay loop closer to the sense of reality.

Hi,

we still have some work to do for logistics and cargo, and the dynamic spawned cargo will get more refinement.

However I will say that setting the contents of the cargo should be left to the mission creators choice. They may want scenarios where cargo does deliver more than it could in reality. But also if they wish to they can set realistic values and cargos contents. We have to be careful not to restrict it to much and leave the choice up to the mission creator.

thanks

Mission creator can enforce this? That is a part I wasn't aware of. Can you please show me is this explained somewhere? Checked the Cargo System Guide but I haven't found anything there, only that each player can pack a dynamic cargo by himself (and there's no limitations there).

If this is mission enforceable, or mission maker can create a set of cargos (dynamically via scripts would be golden), then yeah, I agree that there's no need to make it fully strict and 100% realistic as that will limit the creativity a bit.

Yes, regular cargo in ME - static objects/cargo  - set contents of crate and manually set the weight.

Hopefully this will happen for dynamic cargos also in the future, and of course as you mention scripts like CTLD can also do this.

Ah, there's the catch. It only works for the regular static cargo, not dynamic spawned ones.

Yeah. that's the feature I'd really like to see. Ability to constrict Dynamic cargo to at least have the correct weight regarding the stuff we put in the container. Maybe it can be a toggle option somewhere in the current Dynamic cargo GUI or even better, a toggle in the Mission Settings, same as we have enforceable settings for dots, map view, turbulence...

If the checkbox is checked then the cargo weight = container + (whatHaveIAdded * quantity).
If not, just the container weight is taken into account and you can put the whole warehouse inside for all I care.
