Posted by Wags: 4- DCS: A-10C Warthog. Not much to report here other than progress is good and it we will go into alpha testing after the Black Shark patch is released. Probably starting in August we’ll be discussing this project in more detail and I will start the Producer Notes soon after. We appreciate the PM beta tester application, but please note that we are not accepting beta tester applications at this time.

Hi , I ´d like to know if the A-10 is postponed because of some problem or what? No news, no info, did i miss something or is it just Calm before storm?

IIRC Wags has just been on a Business-Trip to Russia........The Timeline on any forthcoming update might thus be directly proportional to the Degree of Vodka consumption on the said trip - and as we are unaware of the scale of the said consumption, any estimate as to an Update would be Fraught with Failure.

Let's have patience. As you quoted yourself: "Probably starting in August..."

The more you insist on given dates, the less dates will be given, obviously. So let's just consider it is the calm before the storm, just that the length of this calm is not defined.

On the other hand, it's not like there were no news in August ;)

I think last I heard somewhere Christmas time ISH is when we'd start seeing some producer notes and hearing more upgrades. I could be wrong and don't have the thread to back me up, but it was here someplace I read that from a credible source.

If one reads properly the updates that wags posted, then it's obvious (well sort of) what ED are doing now and why there are no updates ATM.

Small update would be great. What are you working on now ED Team?

1- DCS: Black Shark Update/Patch. The update/patch is still in work but many more of the training tracks are broken due to update/patch changes than we first expected. Moving forward with DCS: A-10C Warthog, it is unlikely we will continue using the track file system for training missions! Between this and a couple of high-priority, time-sensitive tasks that have come up, the update/patch will probably not be released until August 2009. We understand that this is disappointing news to some, but believe me when I say that we want to release the update/patch even more than any of you.

2- DCS: Black Shark Printed Manual. Regarding North American distribution, the manuals have arrived at the distributer’s warehouse and will be sent to both GoGamer.com and Amazon.com. We apologize for the delay on this.

3- DCS: Black Shark Localization. Our localization manager and the dedicated Spanish translation team are working very hard on finalizing the Spanish version and are now at the release candidate stage.

4- DCS: A-10C Warthog.

5- Lock On: Flaming Cliffs. As mentioned in the last update, we are working on a further evolution of this product line. However, until the software is essentially done, we will not be discussing this in any detail. Sorry.

6- 3rd Party Tools. As some of you may have noticed a Tool Wiki is available here: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/All_about_land and forum discussion here: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=89 In the near future we will be adding an additional 18 documents regarding terrain construction (kudos to Hawg11). Later in the year we will be adding additional plug-ins and instructional documents to create new aircraft.

AFAIK only half of the list has been finished, so it's pretty clear what ED is working on now: The other 3 points ;)

Concur with above. As usual, ED is very busy with multiple projects, including gaming and non-gaming simulations. On the gaming side, the main focus right now is on DCS: Warthog, with some additional resources being put toward the new LOFC-based product we've recently mentioned, as well as development of new technologies for future DCS modules.

Yes I remember such topic as well, around December is where we will get new info, it was in the topic where was some discussion about the ingame screen shots that were released while ago, cant find the topic right now.

Until December :joystick:

I would also like to add that, as mentioned before, A-10C info will not be made available until early 2010.

That what I meant - more exact A10C project progress, maybe start-up procedures showed in first Producer's Note. I didn't read before there won't be any info until 2010. Well, ok.

If there will be no info until early 2010 then it means no 9 month cycle for addons they mentioned before.

No, it means exactly what it meant before: 9 months is the plan barring unforseen circumstances.

But in practice it doesn't mean 9 months, so let's say oficially average two years and all will be ok :)

Bigger suprise (and very nice) will be faster release from this planned two years than displacement all time release time based on 9 months.
