Feuerfalke Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I'll say what i said again: I won't be surprised if it won't be flawless. Glad we got that straight. I'll repeat my initial statement then, as well, if you don't mind: ;) Well, that again is a question of how you look at other people. I rather expect them to learn from their errors than thinking they made it wrong before, so they will fail again. coolts Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 A stick has to move! That article has confirmed my preconceptions. Tactile feedback in a simulator, even with trackIR, surround sound, multi monitors, pedals and a HOTAS is still vastly reduced over the real world therefore you need all the help you can get. Removing movement may be acceptable in a real jet, (although not according to the USAF who insisted on an inch or so), but you have your belly to tell you when you are pulling G's IRL. Ramstein Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 If/when I get some serious cash, I am considering buying a new stick,,, I am thinking of changing from Saitek to CH. I am tired of weird problems.. Nothing has ever broken,,, but it appears weird things happen and things wear out far too soon.. I only live a few blocks from CH, though they do not sell from there, they have a small showroom... :joystick: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR

sobek Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Wow, 400€ is some serious dough, i wonder what the actual street price will be. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Eddie Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Wow, 400€ is some serious dough Indeed, but then it is a serious bit of kit. I'll be happily parting with some of my cash, here's hoping the euro loses some more value against the £.
sobek Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Indeed, but then it is a serious bit of kit. I'll be happily parting with some of my cash, here's hoping the euro loses some more value against the £. The X65F started out at 400€ as well, now it's down to 300. Sad thing is, if i go for the Warthog, i'm gonna need pedals too, so that's an additional 100€ :badmood:. Ah crud. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

Eddie Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I assume my Saitek pedals will work with the new Warthog. Unless anyone knows any different. Tom Yep, doesn't matter what stick you use with a given set of pedals. As long as the sim you're flying support multiple controllers, which most if not all do nowadays. Still can't believe people fly without pedals, I tried it a while ago and it just felt wrong and a hell of a lot more difficult.
Bwaze Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Could they be even more cryptic? :D I really don't need a new stick right away, but this HOTAS really looks impressive. And compared to other my hobbies*, even 400 EUR isn't that expensive, because it's an once-in-a-few-years thing. *(15th century reenactment, and photography. Both expensive as hell.)
trigen Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I'l be on it so fast that superman will be put to shame. Being a long time Foxy user and having just tried the Saitek software with a x52 i just cannot wait to throw saitek away just to get foxy back. Not to mention the feel of metal in my hands again. (Well i do hold my cougar from time to time) Its also perfect for a center stick without having to mod the life out of it just to avoid having that huuuuge box between your legs. Just look at this (no need anymore) My only hope is that the throttle is as smooth as the x52 pro's throttle as its better than *** So yep, getting this one! 1080 ti, i7700k 5ghz, 16gb 3600 cl14 ddr4 oc
coolts Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Being a long time Foxy user and having just tried the Saitek software with a x52 i just cannot wait to throw saitek away just to get foxy back. Thats assuming they include / upgrade Foxy. After seeing the software that comes with the MFD Cougar, I'm not so sure. Heres's hoping that TM dont leave out their "ace in the hole". The fact that they have been so secretive during development (for obvious reasone) means that this is ALL conjecture. Even MI5 / CIA would have left a laptop on a bus or something by now..:book: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals

Thats something we have to consider, but after having a survey of foxy from TM not so long ago i'm hoping and do think they will go with the foxy recipe, with some changes based on the survey. That of course remains to be seen. 1080 ti, i7700k 5ghz, 16gb 3600 cl14 ddr4 oc

Conuk Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I have a cougar with hall sensors and ian j's superb NXT II mod.....do you reckon this new hotas will have much new tech better than what I got?
Bwaze Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I hope Thrustmaster will do something about the customer support - right now they have no Forum, and Tehnical Support has very little usable info. Most of really usable stuff is on a (mostly) community driven Cougar World, although FurgalsWorld forums are apparently gone for good (and with them most of the modding community?)...
Conuk Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 isnt it James 'Nutty' Hallows that programmed the foxy software - am sure I read somewhere that he was helping develop the new software (or updated foxy?) for the new Warthog.....
