I'm so very glad they redesigned the grip, the Cougar was pretty inaccurate. It even looks powder coated, no more gloss black shite@!! I want it and I want it now.
Pilotasso Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) So much for the FFB pipe dream, bring it on. X65 is also a premium HOTAS wich will put it in direct competition with thrusmasters offer. X65 is tempting but if this one is what it apears to be saitek was beaten to the race. jocko417 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) I'm kind of wondering what your doing prancing about claiming my bad screen-capping of the Thrustmaster flash-ad is yours? Or am I misunderstanding your post? None-the-less it looks like a smacking nice hotas coming out this year =D:joystick: Never said it was mine, although I could have clarified that. I only used your screen cap with the DCS throttle quadrant shots to compare the two in order to illustrate what we are probably looking at in future. And I don't prance, I'm not that graceful ;) Edited January 8, 2010 by jocko417

Aren't Thrustmaster at CES showing off this thing??? Edit: I've upped my picture extracting skills, voilá! Edit2: I've resnatched the pictures from the first ad as well. Anyone notice anything familiar with the A-10 picture? Also on another note; why does the close-up of the throttle say "LAPS" in the latest ad and not FLAPS as in the first? Eddie Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Come on, TM! Give us some high resolution pictures or some videos from the CES! +1. And a full spec list would be nice as well. I hope it has a decent idle detent on each throttle and DCS:A-10C supports having the idle detents on the throttle axis rather than having to use a key combination. But even with the small snippets of information we've had so far it looks to me like TM have learnt from the mistakes they made with the cougar and really are turning out a premium product this time. Here's hoping they don't charge too much of a premium price.
Chibawang Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Call me crazy, but I strongly suspect the throttle of having gated detents...
Deadman Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 There is only one between OFF and Idle. To move the throttles forward form the off position both throttle handles need to be pulled up or raised to be moved. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

hannibal Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 WOWOWOWOWOWOWO let me say something, if this new A-10C WARTHOG HOTAS From Thrustmaster feels anything like the T.16000M in terms of the joystick deflection, IT WILL BE AWESOME... as much as i love the CH Products joysticks, i found that the Thrustmaster T.16000M joystick was the most comfortable, not too loose, not to stiff... the only thing that sux about the T.16000M is it lacks programming software... find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
jocko417 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Nice job Boulund  Very exciting! Ok, here's a shot in the dark: TM has already spent time and effort making MFDs for flight simmers, I think they should take the next step and continue their idea of ancillary control panels ala Saitek's switch panels for MSFS. I love the idea of actually using a real flap lever and autopilot control panel on the HOTAS Warthog, why not give us something for controlling the landing gear and maybe weapon selection too. I vote for this panel section: :D Just like the switches on the throttle base, these could be programmed to do anything the user wants, regardless of the placarding. Why are we still using the 'G' key to raise and lower the gear in this day and age? :) Saitek did it, TM should too, not just for DCS's A-10C sim, but for all flight sim fans. I know, I know, get the HOTAS Warthog out first. But a man can dream, can't he? 2

Feuerfalke Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I sure hope that TM hears you jocko417! Replace the flaps-indicator by additional switches or some rotaries to make it easier to build and more flexible for other simulations and you will earn loads of easy money. Boulund Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 (edited) I'd love to have this thing on my desktop but I've a feeling it's not going to happend in several years. When will the pricing be revealed? And why isn't thrustmaster showing this in their booth at CES? It says on their homepage that they're there anyway. @Sokol: I'm not sure whether it will have twist rudder - probably not considering that they're going for "as real as it gets". That's a shame because now I'd have to buy some pedals as well - sum going in the wrong way =D Edited January 9, 2010 by Boulund Core i5-760 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB DDR3, Geforce GTX470, Samsung SATA HDD, Dell UH2311H 1920x1080, Saitek X52 Pro., FreeTrack homemade cap w/ LifeCam VX-1000, Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1. Feuerfalke Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Good question. I waited for some pictures released during the CES, but apparently that won't happen unless they keep their new stick as the big bang on tomorrows final presentations. At least they coordinated a new add with the beginning of the CES, so there still might be some news ahead for us. Feuerfalke Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I was more thinking it looks like it could very well be from DCS... ? You mean DCS: BlackShark? Could be, but behind the cockpit you can see a T-shaped antenna, which at least I only saw on A-10Cs. I don't know if the C-Version is modeled in BlackShark, so options are limited - if my observations are right ;) MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
Eddie Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Am I the only person thinking it's possible that ED gave them a screenshot from A-10C for that ad and we have in fact totally missed it until now? It certainly looks like the case to me.
