When will there be an A-10 forum started for DCS? I am burned out already on this chopper stuff and would like to read, discuss, share, and see any and all the latest information pertaining to the Tank Killer in a new forum area :pilotfly:.

I don't think that there will be a separate A-10 forum. Expect more info on the module early next year.

A-10 will still be DCS, so why make up a new forum, when there already is a forum for DCS? :smilewink:

 

A couple of possible reasons come to mind:

 

1. So that A-10C owners don't have to wade through BlackShark specific postings/material, and vice-versa

 

2. To minimize confusion amongst new users (presumably some new users will be coming on board with the release of A-10C). [i'm imagining a new DCS-A10C user reading some rant about the 'DCS trim system', and wondering why he should be re-centering his stick and rudder pedals within a second of trimming].

 

Another potential benefit might be realized in making forum searches somewhat more efficient. Possibly easier on users and /or server(s).

 

It's not an unreasonable concept.

 

However, I would think it would be most appropriate to have a DCS (parent) section, with BlackShark and A-10C (children) subsections. Some things will be applicable series-wide, while other things will be module (airframe) specific.

They're saying new information will come out sometime 2010 so I would assume when that new volley of info comes there will be a DCS HOG section opened up on the forums.

 

How long prior to release did Black Shark screens start popping up? I found out about Black Shark about 6 7 months before release so I'm not sure.

I have a lot of faith in the smart people that run this site. I'm sure there will be an umbrella DCS forums with a seperate A10 & Ka-50 sections. If they have a chit chat forum page here for fun, then yeah, they'll make one for a completely new flagship game. It isn't a hard thing to muster up.

 

I'm sure the boys upstairs will take care of it.

It's sitting on my hard drive right now; what does that have to do with the NEW A-10 that is being developed?

Nothing directly, but if what you want is to fly the A10 it is an option, which he was highlighting.
