I would go for the Tornado.

Or what's in the background image........:music_whistling:

Look at the post date.

Look at the date that the pic was taken.......

Sukhoi 24 or Tornado.

Is it established what will be next after A-10C? Still the Apache?

We have no idea what will be next. Neither do ED from the last post I saw from Wags on the subject. The Apache was never confirmed to be next, only that is was always a possibilty.

What we get next will depend wholly on whatever military contract ED can obtain next. If ED do find themselves in a position where they cannot get another military contract (lets hope not) they MAY look at modelling something the community is asking for provided the information required to do so is obtainable. But, I will say that this is my interpretation based on what I've read from Wags and EB. It may not be 100% accuarate and as always is subject to change.

Lets just hope that we get something after A-10C, and not too long after.

I see. Thank you for your quick and explicit answer.

What if ED is rewarded with a contract which prohibits the product to be published commercially? We left what we have then, or the developers might consider to divide their team to work for both military and commercial products? As I understand this possibility is unlikely due to the small of developers...

On a side note I think they are already working on an AC-130 software, right?

DCS: Romulan Warbird, Valdore Class.

And no, don't reduce the power of the disruptors for some notion of game balance either. kthxbai.

Hinds, for some reason I love them..they look as mean plus there is alot of variety we could do for instance, resupply, medivecs, troop insertion.

F16C the model is all-ready there, make some avionics and MFDs, cockpit and it's ready..

Mastiff...

"some avionics and MFDs, cockpit"

...you realize that model, cockpit and MFD is somewhere around 2% of the work on getting a DCS Falcon? If even that much... Though of course, there's a LOT more to making those clickable cockpits than you might think. There's several times more work to do there than something as simple and tiny as an exterior model.

And DCS level A/A & A/G radar model including all submodes, DCS level weapon modelling, DCS grade flight model, upgrade the 3d model to DCS quality and many other small things..

Only a small fraction of the things modelled for DCS:A-10C will be shared, basically just some of the weapons and RWR/ECM funtionality. Although the A-10C avionics are similar in implimentation to those of the viper, they are by no means the same. And I suspect coding the radar alone (if done truly accurately) would take more effort than all the lomac series put together, afterall nobody in the history of flight sim production has got even A/A radar spot on, let alone A/G radar, so doing so will take a lot of work.

So A/C with no radar are top of the list then....... +1 to the Jag then..:D

I would be happy with a simplified version just like the F15.

F16c for traditional sead and A/A.

But the Jag is thankfully no longer in service, and it was bloody awful when it was. As we always used to say, Jag's rate of climb was zero, the earth just curved away from them as they travelled along.

But being realistic we're not going to get any aircraft that have been out of service for any length of time given that ED can't get a military contract for something no longer used by the military. And hopefully it'll be a fair few modules before ED do run out of contracts.

Now obviously I'd love a Viper and I'd happily give up a kidney to get DCS:F-16C, but I'll be happy with any aircraft modelled to current DCS standards and beyond.

But you can't do SEAD without the A/G avionics and radar modelled. Well you could launch AGM-88s using HTS but that's it, and that's only one of the possible HARM employment methods available to the Viper.

As said above, a LOMAC level aircraft simply isn't going to happen in DCS, and personally I'm truly thankful of that fact. Lets keep it a proper study sim as it should be, those of you wanting a lo-fi air quake sim have LOMAC, it's high time us checklist, realistic procedures & tactics loving study sim lovers had something new

After A-10C it would be really cool to see the F/A-18 C, Eurofighter Typhoon, or Dassault Rafale.

A man can dream right?:D

Multirole

Any true multirole fighter that's NOT the F16. My personal preference would be any version of the F/A-18 with carrier ops.

Two seater would be awesome... Apache or Hind or any two seater, can be fast mover for all I care... Anything with two seats, so one can play with the mate.

After giving this a lot of thought and reading your request for the next set of aircraft for development. Which all of you have given great suggestions my opinion goes as follows.

Jet Aircraft:

F-16 -Microprose did it and loved that 1300 page manual:book:. But ED needs to and will do it better if not equal to.

F-18 Super Hornet -to new may have hard time to get the rights.

AV-8B Harrier II -For the jump jet fans.

Helicopter:

Mi-24 Hind -Come on the Russian work horse.

AH-64 Apache Longbow -Words cannot describe.

AH-1 Super Cobra - Can't have one without the other.

Mi-28 Havoc - Looks brutal.

This list is just my opinion
