what ever the next aircraft is I will buy it!!! Ive had so much fun with the A-10c so far and learn something new everytime I get into it hehe.

Would love an F/A-18 but with the upcoming tac pack for the VRS bug I might be able to live with that hehe. Ive learned from programs like falcon 4 that I am rubbish at Air to Air though so id love another ground pounder.

I'm happy with the A-10A. Since DCSW I've become a Hawg fan. Keep on meaning to make a Desert Storm mission with no TGP or PGM's. ;) Anyone know if Beczls Scud works in A-10?

For me, DCSW has made me less of an A-10 fan. Don't get me wrong, it's a great sim, it's just that it's a boring aircraft to fly when that's the only thing TO fly. Too slow, no air to air capability to speak of, no radar, just a giant gun that most people just use as an excuse to get shot down all the time. I want a multi-role aircraft with an air to ground radar, and SPEED!

Speed is all well and good, but there aren't many aircraft out there that can match the Hog's loiter time. Of course each to his own, but I don't really get the fascination with top speed given that you'll spend very little of your time at more than 350-400KIAS even in a modern fighter.

As someone who came from flying high performance aircaft sims, I can honestly say I don't miss the speed one bit. Still being in the air with half full tanks long after the viper drivers are out of gas more than makes up for the relatively low speed imho.

And if you find it boring, I can only say, you're doing it wrong. ;)

There's no problem with n engine aircraft in the sime, n = [ 0 ... whatever ] :D

It just so happens that the aircraft so far are twin-engined.

So far in the Flanker series, through LOMAC and FC, DCS series, we have only seen twin engine aircrafts. Is it a core design in the sim, so it is hard to change, or this is not any problem? I mean in both ways. Either to make a fully designed single-engine, or a 3-4 engine plane?

Less loiter time is awesome, that means I have to hit the tanker more often!!!!

I am dead serious, I love refueling, and any excuse to do it more often is great!

But honestly, you load up an F-16C with two or three fuel tanks, fly it at 30k feet, it's got a pretty damn long endurance. At least three hours, I believe. And you go like 2X faster than the A-10 while doing so :)

And why do you care about KIAS? It's TAS (or, more accurately, GS) that determines how fast you get from point A to point B.

It's not the lack of speed, although being outeun by a tanker is depressing. It's the lack of A2A at the great realism level that DCS offers that is missed for me.

Ok, sure. 1.3x (you wanted endurance, right?) faster, with maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe similar loiter time (exclusively at higher altitude), and less ordnance.

Because that's the speed zippy stuff happens at.

But you'll end up fighting AI or the same ac with a DCS whatsoevera-acapable ac. :/

While dissiniliar air combat is great, in FC I have no issues when doing BVR or BFM when I am in a Su27 for example and so is my opponent.

Well, as far as less ordinace goes- weren't we just discussing how loading down an A-10 with anything more than like, 2 bombs and 2 mavs was unrealistic? F-16C ain't that bad- two 2000 lbers and 4 AAMs. Maybe a max of 4 Mavericks (or have they solved the issues and the F-16C can now fill up a TER with mavs?)

We were talking about speed, how the F-15, F-16, and F-18 go faster than the A-10- and in that context it is GROUND and TRUE AIR speed we are talking about. Point A to point B. Not the equivalent speed at sea level to achieve the same aerodynamic pressures or however you want to phrase the definition for KIAS. If you start talking about KIAS, you might as well say that the A-10 travels infinitely faster than the Space Shuttle, since the KIAS in orbit is effectively 0. KIAS has absolutely no place in this discussion.

Wouldn't it be infinite? :P:)

Naaa, more awesome is having the insane loiter time and still having to hit the tanker several times in one MP mission. 5 hour flights (without landing to re-arm/refuel) are the way forwards. :D

Just about whatever they load up on, they won't be delivering more ordnance than an A-10 for the same mission. 2 mavs + 4-6 bombs. Given that all of those can be precision weapons, the F-16 doesn't really have anything on an A-10 in the CAS role.

Zero air pressure = zero KIAS.

A-10C box version is about to be delivered in the incoming weeks.

Does it mean next DCS module name will be unveiled as well?

The boxed version has been available in many places around the world since June...

There's no deadline. It'll be announced when it's announced.
