joey45, what's news to me is that moving wings would be a problem insofar as whether it can be modeled in DCS.

ED didn't have a problem with helicopters, and those aerofoils move a lot more than the F-14's wings. :)

Well the wings move so technicaly it is not fixed wing
It's still "technically" a fixed wing. It generates lift by forward motion.

It's a variable geometry wing :) - but still a fixed wing aircraft.

Not the same thing, centre of gravity stays the same for helicopters, with variable geometry wings the centre of gravity changes with angle of sweep

"If the wings are moving faster then the airframe then there's something wrong with the plane"

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I think you get my point:

First people said ED couldn't do proper flight models - then ED made the T-Frog AFM.

Then people said ED couldn't do helicopters - then ED made the Black Shark.

Regarding Cg shifts - the whole point of AFM is that it isn't a static table. Cg shifts when you have parts of your A-10 and Shark shot off too... Now, is an F-14 be harder than something like an F-15 as far as FM goes? Possibly. Hard enough to block it from being selected? I highly doubt it.

And now a two seater.... can they do that...?

Would like them do a normal 2 seater before a swing wing.

The relevant problems would be handled by different developers anyhow, I expect.

But well, future will show what it is. :)

Guess what? Now I hear people saying ED can't make an air to ground radar. I'm glad to hear it, because that means we'll be getting an F-18 or F-16 or F-15E next then :)

I heard they can'd possibly do a hi-fi sim ...

If CG-shift was an issue then the P51 would not have seen the light of day.

F-18 does not seem to be the next plane,Why?

Assuming that they will go on this plane with the possibility of landing on an aircraft carrier, is quite complex

To model the sea, they will have better special Alogritm knowing characterize the sea state, sea calm, windy, high waves.

I know that the people choose the F-18 because of capacity on an aircraft carrier landing, but that will be a challenge for the development team:helpsmilie:.

I personally believe they will go on the F16, if I'm wrong then they surprise with a Russian plane:D

That's a nice one :D

I would love the F-14, the F-16, the F-18 (just not the F-15) , and pretty much any russian fighter (MiG-23, 27, 29, Su-27... any variant).

The CoG should not be an issue as long as ED decide to an F-14... if they want it they will do it, so I don't have any doubts that they couldn't do any aircraft at all, I just threw the shift of CoG as it is different from helicopter, not saying it can't be done ;)

In the end, I just want to hear what's cooking in the oven cry.gif

Deck movement based on wind speeds is implemented.

ohh I am sure they basically could do that. But if you remember how much we got besides the regular modules...as there is the Lock on FC Series which seems to see updates on each Engine upgrade (In my Opinion, The FC Series is a senseless waste of ressources...but this is just my point of view, as the FC Series seems to have a huge Fanbase). We also will recieve a new map with also included engine upgrades, the Combined Arms Addon-on..module...what ever, and not to forget the newly announced Flying legends series...all in one, ED is keeping their promisses, even if it might be a bit other way than axctually expected :).

Aye - those very words some tend to interpret to suite their particular view as opposed to what was said, ie 9 months from Retail Release.

Now taking the A-10C as an example (Retail release July 2011 in the USA), we have until Jan 2013 (18 months) to reasonably expect the release of the next two announced modules, ie Combined Arms and P-51D, never mind FC3 and Nevada as well.

Yet people are moaning already, even though things are well on schedule......bit premature wot. Lucky for me I'm in the UK so I have only until December 2012 before my right to moan manifests:megalol:

Viper...dont make me mad...no word of the next Jet Fighter DCS Module, which is supposed to be in a parallel work as Wags stated? :vertag: ( :D )

I am sure that all the "moaning" is based on the lack of information on the next DCS Jet module...I would lay my hands in fire that ppl would stop moaning if only a few words on the progress could be made :music_whistling:
