I guess the real question is if we are going to see a two seat aircraft or not.

@EtherealN The X-51 the X-15 and other high altitude aircraft maybe, but for space flight we need to modeled a 3D globe (actual map are not a globe but in flat surface) and need too to completely adding a big part of physic like "Orbiter" for space flight.

But yeah i know its possible, but not as "DCS" cause its not a combat craft, maybe as DSS for Digital Space Simulator or DOS for Digital Open Simulator (not open for open source but more like MFS)

If space craft are planed its not for yet its sure.

 

And yeah i know that and i have see with the KA-50 that the ground effect are really nicely modeled in DCS, Ekranoplane can work pretty well, but i don't thing if one day the Ekranoplane will do for DCS that its will coming soon cause ED have a lot of road map project for the moment.

 

And yes i know that but i want mean for the next official DCS aircraft i don't think it will be an aircraft actually not in service, i think it will be more a newer aircraft like F-15E variant for example, but i wonder see the Tomcat :p

And if it the Tomcat we will kill a lot of Mig :p

But maybe follow the same way than the Warhog, A10A (FC) -> A10C (DCS)...F-15C (FC) -> F-15E (DCS), its not impossible that ED have planed to do it.

And it will maybe be using as training simulator "maybe", and coming to reinforce the fleet of flyable aircraft in The Battle Sim

Demongornot, there's a difference between what the technology is capable of and what we have now. Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because something isn't implemented right now it cannot be implemented if needed. The guys at the office are wizards and can do pretty much anything they'd like, the problem is always information, time and money. :)

 

Also, re-check the quote I gave you. "ED or 3rd parties". It doesn't have to be ED making the Ekranoplane. :)

You know, all joking aside, I would LOVE a realistic space combat simulator. I mean, something that actually took gravity wells and Newtonian physics into account.

 

I haven't seen a "realistic" space combat sim since XF5700 Mantis in the early 1990s; that game was truly something different- your fighter had all of 30 seconds of thrust- once you applied a short burst of thrust in one direction, you just kept going until you applied counteracting thrust. And of course, if you applied a one-second forward thrust burst, in order to then turn your course 45 degrees, you had to pivot 90 degrees, apply one second thrust, then pivot back to your new heading.

 

Was glorious.

 

...of course, I would say that something like this is well outside the scope of the DCS series. But someone really needs to make a new space combat game like that. (There was a Babylon 5 space combat game in the works years ago that promised Newtonian flight physics, but the game was cancelled...)

Ho yes sorry your right, aircraft without advanced avionic and without advanced flight model like the F-15C in LOMAC are certainly more complex than the KA-50 and the A10C...

 

Seriously are you kidding ? i don't have saying that its easy to create an aircraft for Flaming Cliff, i just said compare to DCS aircraft like the A10C the A10A in FC2 are not hard to do, that's all...

A "3rd party" is "someone else".

 

Think about all those "3rd party" stuff for Microsoft Flight Simulator, like the A2A/Accusim planes and so on. Those are "3rd party" addons since they are not made by Microsoft.

AFM/SFM aside, it doesn't make it "easier" because it's not as in-depth. Why don't you try it for yourself? Have at it then. :)

Sure. Each would be a separate, fullprice, DCS product then though. That level of detail costs money and takes time to make, and the guys at ED have this weird habit of wanting a salary. :)
