ED didn't say eglish cd version FC1.1. It's why I buy downloaded fc1.1

It is fact that using downloaded FC1.1 is more trouble than cd version.

I paid for FC1.1 downloaded version because I think I can't buy cd version.

How about sending cd version FC1.1 to people who bought downloaded FC1.1? Current situation is not fair, I think.

I also would like a copy of the CD. If not for free perhaps at discounted price. I would feel better having 1.1 on a cd than just on my HD.

It is individual preference that which is more trouble between cd or downloaed.

But the problem is that Ed don't say Eglish CD version FC1.1 will be released.

I think they will not sell FC1.1 Cd version in western.

If I knew Eglish Cd version FC1.1 will be out, I never buy downloaded FC1.1. So I complain.

And with downloaded version, by all means I must contact Ed due to activation key exhaust or hardware changing. But with CD version, I just play with FC cd in cdrom. Which is more trouble?

CD- Burners are pretty cheap now. You should have one for backup anyway.

I bought a car last year, not knowing that this years model was going to come in the color that I actually wanted in the first place. Now that I see this years model of the same car I bought last year, with the color I really wanted, I think I will demand this years model!

I finally got resolution to my problem at:

Hey Slammin,

I respect your opinion but I must vehemently disagree. A more suitable analogy would be a car manufacturer (like Honda for example) releasing a line of cars in the same model year. The First car in the Accord line they produce is one where you may not open the hood and fix things unless you get Honda's express permission to do so. Otherwise it will fail to start the next time. And you need Honda's blessing before it will start again. But a couple weeks later they release a model that you can open the hood and do basic repairs to with out Honda's express permission.

This is what has happened. Most Simmers Like to tweak their PC's for the best performance and God knows how much spyware creeps onto our PC's that require reformats every few months (Spyware blockers or not)

So now I need BIG BROTHER watching my reformats and Windows reinstalls. And I can't get an Authorization right away after 5 of such Windows reinstalls. So at 2AM how am I supposed to get an Authorization code from Eagle?

This is what I get for being a BIG SUCKER/Loyal customer and supporting Eagle Dynamics and LOMAC with out question. Thanks a lot Eagle D!

Eagle is watching out for you - you already have 15 total authorizations approved.

And you won't need to use any of those authorizations for Windows re-installs.

ok, surely if you have already brought 1.1 download you payed, it wont hurt ED finanally because it dosnt cost for a download, unless im mistaken(yes their is server and that, but thats not expensive) so if we payed the difference surely they would send us one?

The didn't think of it because they didn't have a distributer for the CD. My understanding is that NaturalPoint stepped up after 1.1 was released or close to release.

I'd would have loved to have seen the forum if 1.1 was delayed another 2 weeks as NaturalPoint talked to them about possibly releasing 1.1 on CD, which only has been finalized, what, this week?

Even if this is what happened ED still never let on about the CD even though the distributers had the info on their web sites.

Being cynical but maybe they needed beta testers for their new download process....just a thought.

why would they? It would be hell to pay on the forums if the deal fell through and didn't happen. Everyone would be posting how they promised that a cd version would have been available.

Yes they are learning from the download. This is the first time they have been involved in the distribution/selling side of their sim products. A worldwide distribution model isn't something you cook up over night. They are making mistakes, but learning from them.

We want sims, but large production houses like Ubi, EA, Activision, etc do not want to sell them. The market is falling apart and small dev houses like ED are trying to step up and find new ways of making and selling sims. There are going to be bumps. From this ED is learning and hopefully the rollout for 1.2 is that much smoother and LOMAC 2 or whatever their next project is will build on it.

We will also see how the distribution of other startups like Thunderworks and Fighter Ops works out. You probably will not be able to buy those off of the shelf in a store either. They are self-produced and online distribution is the way they will go as well.

Why on earth should ED send you a CD so you have essentially two copies for the price of one? you'd still have the download and you're activations and a CD, how is that then fair to the CD purchasers? It would mean more work for them contacting Starforce to disable you're existing download code from their systems. Just for the record I have the download version, I'm glad that ED gave us more activations but maybe it would have been better if I'd waited for the CD version and no activation problem but that was my choice and ED did'nt force me to do anything. I'll just put it down to experience, youthful exuberence and wanting the sweet sweet candy ASAP :D I may still buy a CD version but again that will be my choice.

"Patience is a virtue"

I've alway heard that and in this case it is true. I decided to wait out the madness till the dust cleared, but some had to be the first on the block to have FC 1.1

So, you're the first to have it and unless you want to pay another $35+, you're stuck with what you purchased. [if starforce will let you, why don't you burn it to a CD]. LOL!!!

Some of you guys are giving new meaning to the term "Buyers Remorse"

You made your decision, you paid for it and got what you paid for, story's over. NO REFUND & NO NEW CD FOR YOUR TROUBLES.

This is the true story IMO. Beta test an activation system... wtf... ED is not some organization of masochists.

Ah now I see. Starforce paid ED and the development of FC to test a new activation system. This smells like... hmm... like... A CONSPIRACY!

We all knew the conditions under which you have to download the game. The only thing which went wrong, is the reinstall issue. ED gave 10 extra activations and made a tool to backup the key. That's enough IMO.

CD version will cost about 40$ + shipping.

Depending on where you live, the total price of getting the CD version (including shipping) may signficantly exceed the 35$ download version.

Also, it will probably not be out for a few weeks, so it will be released over a month after the CD version. Moreover, you will need to have the CD in the drive during play, which is not the case with the download version (makes sense, doesn't it).

Both have pro's and con's.

Since ED have released their registry key tool to copy your installation key, the downloaded version is much more "palatable".

Unless ED goes tits up in a couple of years, leaving those without the CD version unable to play it. Shit happens so best be prepared.

Having the CD version is insurance against that potential problem.

If there was a choice between the activated version and the CD version I would have bought the CD version. At the time there was not.

I would be happy to pay the difference - that would only be fair - and have ED mark my activation number for my download copy as 'all used' so my download version can't be activated again. Problem solved.

I'm sure all of those people who purchased the simulation immediately to show their support for ED would appreciate being given some consideration.

I wouldn't worry much about that, in 2 years I would be playing - at least- the 1.2 version. Most probably I would need the 1.1 for the rest of 2005 only.

Any way, If its technically possible that I buy your Downloaded version and can activate it on my system, I would be happy to transfer the $35 to your bank acct tomorrow morning. This transfer would cost me an additional $10 as fees, totalling to $45. Interested?

Definitely interested, but once CD version is out. You may need to make an international draft and mail that however. We can discuss this over PM. Drop me a message.
