nomdeplume Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Does it show DSMS page instead on the left MFCD, or nothing changes? Yes it's changing the left MFCD, but only the left. Coolie hat down long = DSMS stat page on left MFCD Coolie hat up long = MSG page on left MFCD In both cases the right MFCD continues to show whatever page it was already showing.

MemphisBelle Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 This sometimes happen for my by coincedence while acting hecticly in Battle Situations. So sometimes I hit somethings on my HOTAS and the MFCD´s are changing. But now it´s nice to know that this is caused by the Coolie hat. BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
nomdeplume Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) Interesting that I can't reproduce this situation. I'd like to see a track. I start using the coolie hat at about 12 seconds, track finishes at 29 seconds. This is just an air-start on a random test mission I had. Here's a dxdiag.txt from my system. Edit: I had 1.1.0.7 from a full install, and patched it to 1.1.0.8. And here's a video of the attached track, starting from about 10 seconds in (just after I reset the view zoom).Coolie Hat Quick Look.trk Edited June 28, 2011 by nomdeplume
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted June 28, 2011 ED Team Posted June 28, 2011 Confirmed in 1.1.0.8, thanks. Wait for the 1.1.0.9, this issue already fixed. bradleyjs Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I've heard people talking about a Repair Option on this forum but I can't find it anywhere in the manual - am I missing something? The Ground Crew option doesn't have it and I'm wondering if I'm missing something .... Basically, it would be nice to repair a blown tire then re-arm/re-fuel and go back.. But, don't think that option is available - Yes? nomdeplume Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I've heard people talking about a Repair Option on this forum but I can't find it anywhere in the manual - am I missing something? It's not an option so much as an automatic feature. If you shut down your aircraft and wait about 3 minutes, it will be automatically repaired. Should work in any location where you can request refuel/rearm/ground power.
rddaos Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I want to practice starting up, but the only options I see are: 1) begin mission airborne. 2) begin mission on runway. 3) begin mission on ramp. In all cases, my engines are already running when the mission begins. Could someone please tell me how i can specify to begin my mission with a cold start up? Thanks...

Get in the Mission editor and put an Aircraft on any Airfield. Dont forget to make it playable. After that get one of the hundrets available Rampstart tuts which you can find right here in this forums (follow my signature for Tutorial Collection, you´ll find a lot there). LostOblivion Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 When receiving a JTRS engagement message over the SADL, a red flashing triangle shows up on the TAD. Are really ALL the red triangles supposed to flash in reality on the A-10 when receiving such a message, it makes more sense to me that it would only be only the current one that is flashing, to make it stand out from the previous ones. It has happened several times that I have received such a message and the current one got mixed in with the other million red triangles I had there, making me unsure which one the newest one is. You are playing the game in Game Mode and redownloaded the Game for the other Mode? Did I understood you right? My profile is just for the X52pro or normal Joystick. Pretty much depends on what you got. Just download the respective profile and put it in your SD6 Software folder (Saitek). Then activate it on your SD6 Tray Icon (rightclick) or by using the Clutch button plus POV1 (hold clutch, POV1 up/down to select the profile --> POV1 right to activate Profile). rddaos Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Saving Progress Could someone please tell me is it possible for me to save my mission progress, and return to it later? Also, is it possible to pause the game and review the mission briefing/mission editor page? Because once I begin the fast mission, the only thing I know how to do is press the escape key, which brings up a menu of only 2 options: quit or cancel. After quitting there IS the option to "save track", which I did. But I cannot figure out how to load the saved track. When I begin a mission and browse the mission folders for the saved track, the files are .miz, not .trk. Please advise.
EtherealN Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 There is no proper save function, no. What you can do is open the track through "Replay" in the options menu, fast-forward (Ctrl-Z if my memory serves, not at that machine now so I can't double-check that), and close to the end press esc and select "take control". This will not work as a "save" in campaign missions, however. Otherwise, surely they'd have one?
nemises Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I'd haszard a guess that saving all of the states of all of the AI units in the game would mean 500MB save files that take 30 or 40 seconds to write..or something like that ?...
latearrival Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) Guys, I did ask this elsewhere but in the wrong place so I hope it's cool to ask this here in this thread. In multiplayer setup options there is a network speed drop-down list. Assuming this setting is functional, what effect does it have? Assuming the numbers are download/upload speed, is the unit of measure Kilobytes/Second (KB/s)? e.g. Does "ADSL 256/128" mean you have a max download & upload speed of 256KB/s & 128KB/sec? What speeds are represented by "LAN 1" and "LAN 10"? My average download speed is 800KB/sec and upload 80KB/sec. What should I set the connection speed too in this drop down box? Cheers! nomdeplume Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Assuming the numbers are download/upload speed, is the unit of measure Kilobytes/Second (KB/s)? e.g. Does "ADSL 256/128" mean you have a max download & upload speed of 256KB/s & 128KB/sec? Given the choices (e.g. "modem 56") I'd assume it's kilobits per second. So you can approximately divide them by 10 to find the number of kilobytes per second (it's really 8 bits to the byte, but there's also protocol overheads so dividing by ten gives a pretty good estimate of actual useful data rates). What speeds are represented by "LAN 1" and "LAN 10"?Probably 1mbit and 10mbit, though they seem like strange speeds for "LAN". On the other hand, higher speeds probably aren't any use for a game that's designed to be playable over the internet. My average download speed is 800KB/sec and upload 80KB/sec. What should I set the connection speed too in this drop down box?Probably ADSL 256/128 is the most appropriate. I think the higher you set this, the more bandwidth on the server you'll use, and some servers request you set it no higher than a particular rate. However I'm not sure how the same setting when set on the server interacts with the client's setting. I'd probably avoid the "LAN" settings unless you're actually playing on a local network; it's possible they do more than just set the available bandwidth, but also introduce assumptions about latency etc. appropriate for local play but not suitable for internet play. On the other hand, maybe they don't. But if "LAN 1" does refer to 1 mbit/sec then that's faster than your upload speed. Of course, that would probably only really matter if you're hosting a game.
latearrival Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Thank for you taking the time to reply NomDePlume. I'll set mine to 256/128 as suggested. Cheers!
