now thinking about it since the last "digit" is increment of .25 and he first is also goes up to "3" it actually does make sense to have 4 position only switches there

DM, could you explain a bit how you read model numbers against data sheets?

here is the grayhill product sheet for the 26seires encoders: http://www.grayhill.com/assets/1/7/Mech_Encoder_26.pdf , it looks like the part numbers you provided are of different nomenclature (Military specific?) how do you match?

Sorting through all of the Gray hill stuff just takes time and you need to read every thing.

You just selected the wrong type of mechanical encoder

you want the series 26 Pull to turn. The easiest way to find the correct unit is to call them and give them the old numbers and see if they have changed. If they have they will get you the new part number that is an equivalent to the original. these cost any ware form $40 to $90 each new though. But you may find some thing in the after market or surplus sites.

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

goodness, there i was happy that i found something close and they have versions on top of series lol

quick ebay search got me to this lot. not a pull to turn and a continous rotation variant, but at almost doable price. these seem to operate entirely different then the cheapo 3 lead quadrature encoders. not yet sure what kind is better for the software to drive my fantasy device , but thanks for pointing to these.

I found out a friend was having a hard time with his Oxygen Regulator Panel. Converting it from a real panel to something usable in the Simulator cockpit. So I thought ya it has been a wile and 3 hour well that's not to long. Well I have 6 hours in to it I am working off of a Simulator panel and still not done with adding a working Flow blinker and the Oxygen PSI indicator. Here is a preview. Guy seriously any one that does the entire cockpit and all of the panel will need to be Talented patient and generious doing this kind of work for possibly 20 other replica cockpit builders well lets just say volume will not lower any prices in the A-10C cockpit building circle.

Very nice work there. What font are you using for the text? I have an updated MS33558 where I've added a few missing symbols (punctuation, parenthesis, etc...) and cleaned up the spacing and hinting.

Gostradier I think I am the only person with a trainer that is drawing and converting the cockpit for home builders. I am a bit confused why you would need to take my work and change it to mm.That will be worked out with the EU members of the build groups.

Hey that sound great the kinks should be worked out by then. The plans will come out something like this. Cockpit with Main instrument panel. Then the left and right counsels. Then the control panels It has been a huge undertaking but it is coming together now.

OK DM why will you do the hard work allone ? When youre wife say ready for pre contact you spend too much time for your Hobby ( joke) Not every Person have the knowledge or the ability to make drawings or electronic or what you ever need for cockpitbuilding. Thats the reason to talk about here in this forum and find everybody who can help. The second reason ist to save money when you can create these part for yourself. Or you have the money then buy the parts by Jetpilot or others.

Bloody good work DM. Cant wait to buy the plan  Then I will have to re-build the pit :music_whistling:

Looking forward to see more.

All the best

Hans

Yep Hans. My thoughts exactly. You learn a lot with "version 1" but the real Magic will happen with 2. ;)
