Succellus Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Here's the catch, this price includes VAT. You don't have to pay this tax in US, lucky basterds ;) I live in Poland, so I earn less than half of what you earn in the US for the job I do. I also have to pay for the stick 25% more because of european taxes, plus extra money for shipping from different country (probably about 30 Euro). And YOU dare to complain about prices. :joystick: LOL i live in Brasil, and shipping plus taxes = at least USD price X2. So your complaining about 500,00 USD, i can only beggin to dream of it at 1000,00 USD. 1 HaF 922, Asus rampage extreme 3 gene, I7 950 with Noctua D14, MSI gtx 460 hawk, G skill 1600 8gb, 1.5 giga samsung HD. Are there no local retailers with decent prices? :helpsmilie: Local retailler usually charge to live up, they must pay employees, light, and theyr own living. So direct import is 99% of the time the cheapest way to do it for this kind of hardware. As an example, you won t see a cougar stock edition for less than 500USD. sobek Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) Time to hit the jym academy I'm a well seasoned rock climber, so you can bet your ass i have finger strength, yet when repetitively practicing difficult or stretchy patterns on the guitar, i still experience repetitive strain injury. Actually, if you put a lot of force into such movements, it accellerates the process. Repetitive strain injury has nothing to do with muscle weakness. It's just a sign that your tendons need a rest from repetitive movement. Edited October 14, 2010 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

jocko417 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 A sort of hog related question - when the real stick is being used and it is mounted at a twisted angle, is it just the top part of the stick that is twisted for a more comfortable grip, or are the axis of the controls twisted too? I'm fairly certain it's just the stick top that's twisted and not the axis of the controls themselves, but might as well make sure. Also does the stick allow for this configuration to be made without having to do some DIY (even if it's just to put a spacer between the stick and base) as it appears to have the stick pictured being mounted 'straight'? I've tried using a center mounted stick before that wasn't twisted and it was uncomfortable. I'm also thinking about this. I have always used my Cougar as a "Side Stick" but I'm seriously considering building a cockpit and it would be nice to have a center mounted stick when playing DCS:A-10C. The stick base can't just be rotated slightly to the left because then you are rotating the axes as well. Somebody is going to have to either: a) create an adapter of sorts, maybe fashioned out of another locking ring with a male and female connector on either side, and having the top 'star shape' offset ten degrees or so. b) make a new stick shaft for the grip that has the star offset. The adapter solution is good for those that want to switch back and forth between side or center mounted sticks but you will have a slightly taller stick grip which may affect the resistance feel. The new shaft solution would retain the original stick height but is a more permanent solution. Either way, CNC guys take note, I've got my money ready so have at 'er! :D Strange that the real stick appears to be rotated slightly but DCS modeled ours lined up fore and aft.

I knew one of these guys, he would lift their entire body with any finger (hand ones), but he was prone to heavy pain. Unfortunatly our body isn t prepared for such and usually the tendon grow wider than the passage in our wrist which cause much pain. I must be a lucky guy because the only pain i feel is on the forearm muscles. Never felt the wristles. The real stick is angled, in fact, I think most/all sticks in military jets/helos are angled. It is the natural position of a person's wrist. The stick being straight would be unnatural. The model of the stick in-game (Virtual cockpit) is inaccurate in this regard. JG27_Arklight Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 bad news-blt now says nov. 2 It said that last week since the 3rd update to their order numbers. It looks like they may be doing a staggered release. Normally I would be skeptical regarding the amount of units an online site states they will be receiving, however, it looks like BLT is one of only a few places offering pre-orders here in the U.S. I was suprised Newegg didn't have it listed. Macmall actually called me out of the blue today to tell me my warranty on my macbook pro I ordered from them a year ago is about to expire! They wanted to sell me a 3 year warranty, which I quickly shot down. I didn't think to ask them about the TM HOTAS though lol. I'm waiting to see if newegg or amazon get it.
