STP Dragon Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Hi guys, In the manual of the Thrustmaster is written that it is possible to set the intensity of the LEDs with TARGET. Where? Because it is possible to configure every switch in DCS directly and you have to run the TARGET script manually before you start the game, I uninstalled TARGET again. After I switched off my PC the Throttle was still shining green. Isn't it possible to switch off the LEDs manually or automatically at system should down? CrashEd Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I was also wondering this, but as I power off (completely) my PC after a session I didn't think any more of it...
STP Dragon Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 Is it possible to switch off the USB port once the computer is should down? Maybe in BIOS? Ragtop Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 My X-52 does this aswell sometimes. I believe it's down to the usb settings in BIOS. 476th vFG Alumni
STP Dragon Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 Not for me. For the ASUS P6T Deluxe it is not posible to switch off the USB power in the BIOS.... :( Any other idea? sobek Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Any other idea? Get a junction with a power switch. Helps preventing your equipment from drawing a standby current as well. ;) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
mrsparkle1811 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Not for me. For the ASUS P6T Deluxe it is not posible to switch off the USB power in the BIOS.... :( Any other idea? I am not familiar with your motherboard but is there an EUP option in the BIOS? If so, try enabling it.
MTFDarkEagle Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 You could try a powered USB hub with a power switch of some kind? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
kylania Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 It's clearly a bug that shouldn't be happening. Hopefully just a glitch in the TARGET software or something a firmware update can fix. Fopeyducker Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Strange I've got the same motherboard and all my USB stuff turns off when PC is shut down. =Panther= Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Sounds like your USB port is an "always on" from the MB. My computer has two always on USB ports. Slayer Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Not for me. For the ASUS P6T Deluxe it is not posible to switch off the USB power in the BIOS.... :( Any other idea? that is the 5 volts USB standby power. Most boards have a jumper to enable/disable it. Without it you can't press a button on a windows keyboard to turn on system power. STP Dragon Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 @ Slayer: I'm not that professional in motherboards. I don't know all this short cuts... Please can you tell me which jumper it is? Slayer Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I'm not seeing a jumper in your manual, the only thing I can suggest is trying to move it to different USB ports, it's possible that all don't have standby power. I had to move my old X52 pro to a different port because the screen would always be on also, moving it to a different port solved it for that. topdog Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Hah. I'm the reverse, I often don't need a light in my room, thanks to routers, keyboards, sticks, etc., with their LED arrays providing a constant but subtle glow :D [ i7 2600k 4.6GHz :: 16GB Mushkin Blackline LV :: EVGA GTX 1080ti 11GB ] [ TM Warthog / Saitek Rudder :: Oculus Rift :: Obutto cockpit :: Acer HN274H 27" 120Hz :: 3D Vision Ready ]
Teej Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 You could always use the hard power switch that's (possibly) on the outside of your computer's power supply rather than the "soft" power switch on the front. And if it doesn't have that...use a surge strip. That said...the software is supposed to be able to control LED brightness, but it's not at that point yet. "Tank! I need a program for a TM Warthog!" Feuerfalke Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 OK, thank you. If you have linked the Joystick over a powered USB-Device, you have to switch this device off in order to shut down the lights. Even in standby, the ports are still powered with 5V. If you have connected them to your mainboard, make sure to disable functions like Wake-On-Keyboard or Wake-On-Mouse in your BIOS. For general control of the lighting TM has released a note on their support-site for the TMW. It states that the lighting will be adjustable in future TARGET-releases. Callsign.Vega Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I also noticed my HOTAS throttle lights also stay on when the PC is off. Do you guys think if this thing is powered up 24/7 for years it will wear it out faster? I wonder if in addition to the LED's the circuit board and hall sensors are also fully powered up. Seem's retarded to have to manually keep plugging it in and out. Why do the rest of my PC controls like the Logitech G13 etc go to sleep but the throttle doesn't?
