I have some problem configuring TM Warthog in the game. Previuosly I didn't have trim on my stick's POV1. With in-game loaded profile it is the same. But there is a problem: when I wanted to assign trim commands for my stick's POV1, I realized that the coolie hat switch and the joystick's POV switch produce the same command: JOY BTN POV1 (or something like that, but both are the same). So, now I can not use the coolie to manage the MFCDs... Any suggestion...?

The Flightstick and Throttle are configured seperately in the Controls tab, hence two POV switches with the same 'command/name'.

Do you use then on desk? We have to remember they are designed, the throttle, to be near our hips, and the stick between our legs ...no pun intended.:smilewink:

Yep, that's the trick.

The throttle is not at all uncomfortable to use. But if you have the throttle on a desk, you should put something under the far end or you will break your fingers, when moving the TAD with full throttle.

In this regard it's the exact opposite to the CH Pro Throttle, which is entirely shaped for desktop use, completely disregarding any realistic shape.

Is it possible to solve this problem? I don't like "dead" switches (now the collie is dead)...

There is no problem.

In your Control settings you have two columns, one for the Flightstick and one for the Throttle. In the Flightstick column you assign JOY BTN POV1 etc and in the Throttle column you assign JOY BTN POV1 etc. They are independant and accordingly do not cancel one another out. Will post screenshots illustrating in a wee while.

Thank you for your help, I'll try it inmediately. :)

Since the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog is actually two separate controllers you can 'reuse' the same button in the Joystick and Throttle columns since they are referring to different physical buttons, just with the same name.

You can see the button layout on pages 4-5 of the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Manual.

Why is that?

I would guess 2 factor:

1) Desktop factor.

The WT being way taller than the Cougar was, you have to "Break" you wrist even more to be able to pilot: Painfull fpr prolongued flying, especially when your tension your hand and arm manoeuvering hard.

2) Long guess:

The WT is on a "ball" so it have a long travel, wider than normal joys. People that have problem with "carpal tunnel" (is that the name?) or any other LER up to the Elbow may experience pain if the stick is not in a very confortable position. Probably near hip height as in the real plane.

The Warthog was designed for cockpit not desktop.

How do you post pictures ? i did some drawers for my cougar, can be an idea.

Cougar and CH are best if they are not on the desk also. Although CH does better on the desk since its light to move. I really need to make some sort of pit. May have to look around and see what I got.

Options -> Controls -> A-10C Sim / Systems -> Map Toggle Landing Gear Up/Down to JOY BTN15 on Throttle HOTAS Warthog.

Thanks kylania, on you reply...But when i try to map button on toggle landing gear, nothing happens...I press button, but i cant assign it to gears...When I did the same to paddle stick, i managed to map it to center view. I think with paddle stick it worked, because it wasnt assigned to anything in default stick configuration, but left throttle button is somehow mapped to q key

hreich,

It may be that your changes are being saved where your controller isn't finding them when in the simulation. Try reloading your lua files for your controllers to see if that makes a difference -

Launch DCS:A10c, go to options / controls. Click on any line in the column "joystick HOTAS Warthog", then click "LOAD PROFILE" and navigate to " /config/input/Aircrafts/A-10C/Joystick". Select "joystick - hotas warthog.lua" in file list, click OK.

Do the same thing for the throttle: Click any line in the column "throttle Hotas Warthog", click "LOAD PROFILE", the navigate to " /config/input/Aircrafts/A-10C/Joystick" and select "throttle - hotas warthog.lua", click OK.

I have been able to make changes to the default mappings without any problems after doing this.

I am. Have them since last year, bought them for BS, actually (so as to not have to remember all the different key strokes). One of the buttons is a bit iffy (doesn't seem to work all of the time in BS).

It's great with DCS:A-10C : you look at the mfd in the game, just push the corresponding button on the Cougar MFD. Want to make the TGP SOI, push the bottom left button twice, switch to MAV, push second button, etc... Love them with DCS:A-10C.

Great, sounds good. That's the reason i ordered the MFD's. Less mouse clicking in the cockpit while airborne. Can't wait to get all the gear in-house :D

Are they plug & play with A-10 and BS?
