jerda Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 My RMA'd WH throttle finally arrived today. I've never been so happy to see those green lights. The model number remained the same. I heard a squeak when i advanced the throttle all the way, but now it seems to have gone away. It was very quiet and if it happens again, it really wouldn't bother me. I'm as happy as a hog now. buh-dmp-dmp Anyhow, here's my timeline; 12-27-10 -The throttle went bad - this is where the calls and emails begin 12-31-10 - I shipped the throttle 1-7-11 -Canada receives my throttle 1-20-11 -They finally ship it back(after 2 weeks) 1-26-11 - back in business. I must admit i was using a non-powered usb extension (6 feet long). Now i've plugged it straight into my computer. Though I will not plug and unplug anything before i power on and off. I will try to return the button settings the same. Overall, this was a long and annoying process, but they(eventually) did take care of me. Best of luck to all with problems. I hope i don't have to post any bad news here ever again.

MudRat02 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I've always loved the quality of CH sticks, they just won't ever let up. I used my old one for over 10 years without a problem. The only gripe, however, is the joystick movement. Moving from forward to aft or left to right you feel a really significant jump which irritates me somewhat. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

AFAIK, you have to send a copy/scan of the bill so they reimburse you. I don t know, but i would suppose this must be part of the negociation. But other ghave claimed to be reimbursed. Dudikoff Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Was there a poll for the TM WH owners to see how frequent these failures really are? I'm considering getting one at the moment, but if it bricks on me, it would be too much of a hassle to send it back to the manufacturer for a reanimation session. Not trying to start an OT debate, but can't help noticing how tolerant the owners with problematic units are towards all this, while Saitek gets blasted for considerably lesser problems (though, I'm a long time Saitek user and the X36 still works, but I've moved to an X52Pro). I guess I have to see the TM WH in person to appreciate the love it induces (have a Cougar which is still boxed as I found it unusable at stock configuration). i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. Succellus Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 It seem they would be around 1%. Mine got here fine and is still fine.. but i kept the throttle package just in case. As they said they'll reimburse the sending back, i am calmed. One trip is like a hundred usd. Lately the rate of failure have dramtically lowered compared to 2 month ago. So i assume if get a latter SN it will be very OK. HaF 922, Asus rampage extreme 3 gene, I7 950 with Noctua D14, MSI gtx 460 hawk, G skill 1600 8gb, 1.5 giga samsung HD. WynnTTr Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I think the problem's been ironed out. I haven't heard of a throttle bricking with latest updates in a while.
Dudikoff Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 OK, thanks. That sounds reassuring. I might go for it then after all. I'm still a bit on a fence between this and the Saitek X65F, though the latter isn't available here yet. It also lacks the dual trigger for some reason (got used to it on the X52 Pro), though I guess the stick's front bottom button can be used for the same purpose. i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. sobek Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Did enyone get the shipping cost refunded if so how? paypal or what. Yes. Ask support to cover your shipping costs, they will ask you for a scan of your bill and account information and then transfer it to your bank account. It took a while for me to get the money, but they covered everything without hesitation. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
