If it doesn't move mud, it's for girls. End of discussion.

The mirrors in the Eagle have nothing to do with rear visibility, they're just there so the pilot doesn't have to suffer the terrible torture of having to go 2 whole hours without checking his hair and lipstick look ok.

I honestly don't know about the Upgrade. The Nevada terrain however will be a paid for addon, for those who didn't participate in the Open Beta

This sounds like a fair option.

It's my understanding that if you purchased A10C before a certain beta we get it for "free" others will have to pay for it as an add-on after general release.

This is not a fair option.

The EXACT quote is..................

To clarify: the Nevada map will NOT be in the release version of A-10C but we do plan to release it later as a pay-for add-on map. This map will be free to those did the A-10C pre-purchase though. For those that wait for the final, release version, the Nevada map will be a separate purchase.

I believe that F-16 would be a more lucrative choice for ED:

*Too much info on F-16, even on the net.

*Too many Falcon players (new flight model and new graphics will attract current falcon4 society, let alone the other advantages ED can bring)

*Too many counties have F-16, sales can be higher for ED.

Sure the purist among us will pick up whatever ED releases if given the opportunity. But yeah I understand your logic, which is why I believe we will see a F-16 (at some point).

I really hope it's not a fighter because of fly-by-wire system. They're pleasure to fly only near stall speed. Faster - what's the difference between them and X-Wing or TIE fighter then? That's from the sensation of flight point of view. If shooting is a priority for someone then it will sure make up for the mentioned shortcoming.

And then there was this Eagle Dynamics survey: (My comments in brackets)

Which aircraft do you prefer most of all? *

  • Ka-50 (DONE)
  • A-10 (Nearly DONE)
  • F-15 (USA fixed wing)
  • Su-25 (Not USA)
  • Su-27 (Not USA)
  • Su-33 (Not USA)
  • MiG-29A (Not USA)
  • MiG-29C (Not USA)
  • F-16 (USA fixed wing)

So I think we can agree we have two possibilities. The F-15 Eagle and F-16 Falcon. Both named after birds. The last ED aircraft was a Shark, the current module is the Hog and so it follows that the next aircraft will NOT be named after a bird! Thus I have come to the conclusion that the next aircraft from ED, can be none other than the DCS F/A-18 Hornet.

End of story. We can all go home now. Please shut down this thread. Thank you. Running for cover... ;)

guys I think it's probable that you are already looking at "the new graphics engine" in A-10C. The map you're flying on was last updated for BS and then put into FC2. The A-10C module has new graphics features that BS did not have, however it still uses the old map, hence the old map cannot "utilize" the new features without being updated. I think if you are expecting "the new graphics engine" to be some DX11 upgrade to the current A-10C engine, you will be disappointed.

edit: oh btw, I hope this is proven wrong because I would love to see a more substantial update

you know that the F-16 is called Viper? like the A-10 Thunderbolt II is called Warthog. So i dont see a reason why there wont be a DCS - F-16 Viper :D :joystick:

Alliance was good, Tie Fighter though had a great story, dynamic music (would change as the action happened) a LOAD of fighters to fly and for the bad guys to boot ;).

Anyway sorry thread off topic there.

Yay fixed wing module whatever we're talking about :)
