Griffin Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 And how's the FM nowadays? +1? If the handling would be considered realistic, this would be my top buy especially with potential community mods with realistic 3D models!
Beagle One Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 It a top buy anyway just considering the amout of support and updates you get for free from BI. Not a naturally thing anymore.
MemphisBelle Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Take on Helicopter Hinds announced.. yesss....I only say 2 Seater!!!!!!!!!!! http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?131056-Take-On-Hinds!&p=2103926&viewfull=1#post2103926 BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
Grimes Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 You forgot the troop transport seats in the back, so its a little more than just 2 seats. I'll be interested to see what differences there are with the weapons systems between this and what is currently in ARMA2. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. element1108 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 DCS HIND........I know it's been said a million times already, but the thought of it makes my mouth water. Looking forward to some vid's showcasing the detail/fm/weapons of BI's HIND.
aaron886 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Yeah I'd like to have DCS:Hind about as much as I'd like to have DCS:Minivan.
empeck Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Yeah I'd like to have DCS:Hind about as much as I'd like to have DCS:Minivan. It's subjective. I'd rather play DCS: Hind than DCS: Fastmover :music_whistling: ;) Can't wait for TKOH: Hinds, already preordered.
MemphisBelle Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 It's subjective. I'd rather play DCS: Hind than DCS: Fastmover :music_whistling: Can't wait for TKOH: Hinds, already preordered. <OT> First I can´t wait to finally sit in an Fastmover, I just want to see the differece between Lock on and DCS Supersonic Flying. I think that this will be an outstanding experience. Secondly we urgently need a Fastmover to finally create different Missions together with Dogfights and CAP next to CAS. That will be awesome. </OT> About the ToH: Hind...I preorderd as well, righ the day it has been announced  BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection

xi Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) There's a review of 1.04 over at SimHQ http://simhq.com/_air14/air_514a.html which has a list of helicopter specific aerodynamics covered by TOH. It's basically saying, that while there have been substantial improvements to the FM it still has a long way to go to be comparable to DCS:BS... but there is hope! Would be great to get to a level of realism in ARMA, where missions (like in real life) would require specialists to command tanks and to fly airplanes and choppers! @Dwarden: are there current plans to update the demo? (which still is v1.02) Edited March 7, 2012 by xi -- "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away". -- Philip K. Dick
Wolfie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Take on Helicopters: Hinds released. http://takeonthegame.com/take-on-helicopters-hinds-launches/#more-3044 Not sure if its any good yet. For one thing, they still have the old reflector sight on the super hind. Should be a newer, western style hud. Short launch trailer: Edited March 15, 2012 by Wolfie "Isn't this fun!?" - Inglorious Bastards "I rode a tank, held a general's rank / When the Blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank!" - Stones.
Wolfie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 What is nice about it, is that its in the Arma world. I would love to see that kind of terrain in DCS. "Isn't this fun!?" - Inglorious Bastards "I rode a tank, held a general's rank / When the Blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank!" - Stones.
Dwarden Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Lock on target - Bohemia Interactive has launched Take On Helicopters: Hinds - the first official DLC for Take On Helicopters. Bringing in a variety of helicopter gun-and-gameplay, Take On Helicopters: Hinds enlists players to become the pilot of the most iconic helicopter gunship ever: the Hind. http://www.bistudio.com/english/home/news/projects/291-take-on-helicopters-hinds-strikes-stores http://takeonthegame.com/take-on-helicopters-hinds-launches/#more-3044 yoeDW0mjI1Q it's accompanied with free update 1.05 to Take On Helicopters http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?132470-Take-On-Hinds-Compatibility-Pack-(1-05) http://takeonthegame.com/game-updates/
MTFDarkEagle Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 The model is weird...it's boxy. Specific type perhaps? There is also a F-15 with front canards. That's "weird" too..? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
SUBS17 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 That looks awesome, BTW Hind A is the boxy shaped one. I don't see any A's in the video. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
Wolfie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I think its Mi24-P (Hind-F), Mi-24V, and the "Super-Hind" (Mi-35?). "Isn't this fun!?" - Inglorious Bastards "I rode a tank, held a general's rank / When the Blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank!" - Stones.
Wolfie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Looks like the other thread is being taken up again, so lets close this one and go there, since it has like 35 pages. Actually, I see Dwarden from BIS just posted a link there as well. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71028 Edited March 15, 2012 by Wolfie "Isn't this fun!?" - Inglorious Bastards "I rode a tank, held a general's rank / When the Blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank!" - Stones.
Wolfie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Hey Dwarden, 10 minutes of some good ingame video on youtube would be nice. Your other video's a little short. And on another note, isn't the Super Hind supposed to have a western style HUD instead of the old reflector sight? "Isn't this fun!?" - Inglorious Bastards "I rode a tank, held a general's rank / When the Blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank!" - Stones.
Dwarden Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) as You wish Edited March 16, 2012 by Dwarden
Wolfie Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) Already seen that one. One with a few minutes of combat showing off the shkval?, rockets, cannons, different armament would be good. Also the vehicles, ground troops, and AI performance. I really don't expect realistic startup procedures like the shark, but showing key elements like the shkval, laser guidance, etc are critical. We expect to see something on par with Flaming Cliffs 2. sylkhan Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 We expect to see something on par with Flaming Cliffs 2. Not even close:( Just an air shooting arcadish game, no avionic at all. Basically it's the same hind as arma but without the arma content, and with a less crappy FM. I really don't know what customers they are targeting with a product like that. Just wait for some review before purchasing.
PeterP Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) *:) No offend intended -just a friendly advice ;) * Thanks for summing it up in this clear words - but please try to stick to the forum rule 1.10. (I just fear that this thread will be closed soon if it goes like this any further). I never expected that this will on par to a real aria-simulation . ...these things need a lot of time. But- I think it's a very nice addition for those FPS-gamers that want to have a "deeper" look how it could be to operate a combat helicopter - without to spend one month reading manuals. BTW: as You wish If you want to make sure that these videos can be watched in parts of western Europe - make sure they use copyright free music - because it's blocked in Germany!
