derelor Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Yes, interesting there is no mention of campaign fixes in changelog. I didn't touch any of the campaigns because of the problems with them. Look what has been added to the list: Campaigns Reported errors in Devil's Cross and The Shore campaigns have been fixed. 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
cichlidfan Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 No, Mean Time between failures are modelled regardless. Nate Ah, I see, you mean MTBF numbers based on...history or vendor theoretical data or that kind of thing. In other words, the numbers the provisioning guys use to predict spares needs? I guess I could see where it would be nice to have it as an option...not aware that I have ever had one thus far but then I don't have that many air hours yet either. Thanks for explaining. WH_Boomer Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 But nothing solution in this post for Tanker in multiplayer? Other pilot don't have a problem when refuel more A10C? Other virtual groups don't apply this procedure or use mission in 10 nm of distance and 10 min. of flight? Yep, we've pretty much given up on trying air refueling, but most of the issues seem to be for clients only. Not just refueling, but JTAC, comms, etc, all seem to work in some sort or another for the server, but since we have a dedicated server, that doesn't do us a whole lot of good. So we stick to sorties limited to three hours or less. TOLD mission planner is your friend  ~S~ Boomer DCS: Blackshark Cockpit Trainer DCS: A-10C Cockpit Trainer
Frostiken Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) See, you say that, but the reality for most people is that unless you are super-masochistic, random failures simply are not fun. On one hand I can see having an option, but on the other, equipment failures are a fact of life. What I would like to see (ED take note!) are equipment failures being able to be sorted out in-flight. Avionics systems are just computers, and if your computer in real life is having a problem, a simple reboot can clear it up. Many times we have pilots come down with broken systems that we can't dupe even in chocks talking them through reset procedures, because powering down and back up is simple enough to fix some occasional glitches. Naturally battle damage isn't going to be 'cycled out', but it would really be nice to have more specific failures (ie: a line on the CDU blanks out, or your MPD color goes screwy) rather than 'it works' or 'it doesn't'. Just my $0.02. It's not the pilots jet, it's our jet (CC's that is). The USAF might have owned my F-16, but as the crew chief it was mine. Sure, the pilot has his name up higher and "borrowed" it, but he always had to sign it out, and sign it back in to me. I took care of her, and if he did anything wrong with her, I took it out on him. <USAF maintenance dickfight> Bah! Crew chiefs know what hole to put the red and yellow stuff in, but ask them how anything works and watch the blank stares all around :D </USAF maintenance dickfight> Edited May 13, 2011 by Frostiken [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Baggy MacDouche Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 There are a good few things that have been tweaked, fixed or added that aren't in that list to be honest. Nate That's just evil dropping a nugget like without backing it up with a list, knowing full well that you are muzzled. ;) I'm assuming that like the last patch it will be released as an update first and then a full install some time after, correct? After the previous patch, I had to reinstall fresh. Do you recommend patching first, or fresh install(kind of a pita)? Can't wait for this patch though. Cockpit lighting and surround sound are almost enough for me. This is a complex piece of software and I think it is unreasonable to think that everything is going to be fixed by the "next" patch. Everyone has their pet peeves but I trust that ED has to prioritize the way they do for good reason. Kuky Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Will Nevada be released in upcoming patch? It's been said before Nevada terrain will be a paid addon and will be available for free for those who pre-purchased DCS A-10C, so no... it won't be part of this or any future patches. Cali Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Well keep in mind bird strikes IRL are pretty rare anyway :P How often do you expect / want to injest a bird? In my 12 years in the air force I have only heard of 1 maybe 3 birdstrikes :P, so yes they never happen. :music_whistling: and they always seem to happen at 30,000 feet, crazy birds. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
