Nevada was the one feature I cared absolutely nothing about. And I still don't think I will be able to run it based on my experience with the beta. But I fly into LAS fairly regularly and MAN! it looks EXACTLY like that! In fact I recognized that road in the desert in the first screenshot. My feelings for it as an anticipated feature haven't changed (unless we get to someday pretend it's Afghanistan) but it is another fine effort to please the community.

Not good. They are trying to do too much at once. There is question in my mind as to whether I will even care about Nevada that far down the road. But then I guess they are not in a hurry since the Hornet can fly there too. Drag.

Kind of agree whit you Mower, could care less about Nevada.

Then again, it now being an add-on for non-beta customers may generate extra well needed cash.

Would prefer them putting the effort in patching current modules and starting the new one though.

On the topic of additional terrain to fly in, i prefer terrain adjacent to what we already have. So that we can make bigger and bigger scenario's whit realistic flight times and give in-air refueling a real purpose.

I'm really looking forward to Nevada. For me it will be a major change for this series since I first played Lockon. The Caucasus map is great and all, but what I really want to do is fly over Desert terrain and kill tanks etc. At least I can pretend its Afghanistan, or Iraq '90 / 2003. I think it will be easier to eye ball targets moving across the desert too.

Bit of a shame it a ways off yet, but I guess I can wait :)

Thanks for the update.

It's looking great but I can't imagine flying mission in Nevada.

It will be good for simulating missions in Iraq or Afghanistan... maybe ...

Personally, at the quality level of the scenery we have now, I think Nevada would be a great area just to fly around. As much as I like making things go boom, I find that I also enjoy just flying around...this may be due to the fact that I am still very new so I don't make very good booms yet.

Pictures are from higher altitude, tiles resolution is also visible... nothing fancy for me so far :P

But nice something new to choose from.

While the terrain looks stunning and I can already imagine what it will be like to fly over that, especially with the new cockpit shading. Cool.

But I'm still trying to wrap my head around why Nevada? If work is going to be done by anybody on a whole new terrain, why not make it an area with relevance(Afghan, Lybia, etc.)? Seems like kind of a waste to have it just for training stuff and it would be hard to swallow some kind of fantasy conflict taking place on US soil, let alone out in the Nevada desert.

I guess mission/campaign builders can pretend it's Afghanistan/Pakistan or something, I hope.

They do some pretty damn realistic training out in the Nevada fields...I'd imagine it would be pretty fun. And who cares if it's US soil? Just imagine as...not US soil.

I think the pictures are awesome, and though the time line for the release is way farther than a lot of people expected, I think it'll be nice...if everyone is still playing by then.

Looking forward to seeing what the dynamic weather will bring to the Nevada field. I'm not sure if any of you fellas have spent time in Nevada other than Las Vegas, but the dust storms we get out here in the desert is crazyyyyy. Would be fun to see if high winds cause dust storms.

Nevada rocks, but NOT in Fall 2011.

Nevada has been in the works since when, someone help me out here, LOMAC? And I think, as someone else mentioned, its intended for Red Flag. If you think about it, desert training missions are less contrived than picking a real Hot Zone which anyway may become passe by the time the terrain comes out. Nevada will never be passe as an area to use for training.

You know, just because it *says* Nevada doesn't mean you can't just pretend it's any other sandy wasteland... saying "I can't play on this map because it's not a real life conflict location!" is pretty disrespectful of the work being done on it, not to mention it makes you sound ungrateful as hell.
