Looks like I'm going to need a new stick soon as my MS FF2 seems to be dieng on me.

so I need your kind advice about a new one. I don't want it to be to expensive, top of the line cutting edge stick. I'd rather have a solid not-to-complicated stick to serve me as well as my old trusty FF2.

see my specs below

thanx

I can only speak from my experience... get a Saitek X52pro. Its complexity seems just right for DCS, has enough switches, rotaries & hats without having too many! But that is subjective.

It is quite expensive, but i get the feeling well price compared to other HOTAS. It is also well tried & tested.. getting much admiration from its users. Build quality is good imo.

Hog HOTAS is too expensive for my taste....

X52 Pro is indeed a great stick, mine stuck with me for a good five years with no problems, and the only reason I got a new one(X-65F) is because I don't like using modifiers for my switches.

If you are looking for a slightly better stick that isn't quite as expensive as the TM Hog, I would highly recommend the X-65F as it has so far fit my needs perfectly, and I cannot say anything bad about it other than it might take a little bit of time getting used to the force sensing movement. Or rather lack of movement.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

just remember to keep away from the G940.

It must be the worst joystick ever build. completely worthless.

I'm the happy owner of a fssb modded cougar and a warthog hotas.

you won't regret the extra money spent on the hardware, it makes the flying experience so much better when stuff just works. :pilotfly:

Thrustmaster T16000m,

perfect for DCS A10C and about £40. Hall ball technology or whatever its called..same tech as much more expensive sibling. plenty buttons all over. Action is first class. Heavy and smooth, precise. Annoying green light.

I definitely wouldnt buy the t-1600. it's so generic. the sensor is the only good thing on it, the rest is crap.

buttons on both sides, will make one of the sides always useless.

I have a TM hotas-X, the best cost benefit you can get. it's hotas, you can program modifiers via DCS interface, to have all hotas commands assigned to it, and its good and cheap.

buttons on both sides are so left and right handed people can use it. I only use those on the stick and the LHS and have hardly any HOTAS functions missing off the stick. Feels bulletproof. Oh and its got rudder, so is actually BETTER than the warthog lol.

History is logitech and saitek. Now THOSE were flimsy plasticky breakeable rubbish!

Its offcourse about money ;) If you fly only one engine aircrafts, the x52 pro is nice. I have the x52 now. When i geduete i get the g940 set from me parents :) Its dual throttle and force feedback.

If i was you i would go for the G940. Everything in one set :) If you fly only the a10, then is the TM wartogh is the best one ;) But also the most expensive

Indeed!

As with all things, you get what you pay for. The drawback in this instance is that you only appreciate the sentiment once you have experienced them all.

I started my journey with a Saitek Cyborg Evo, moving on to the X52, X52 PRO, Cougar Nxt and now the Warthog. One might not realise just how much a decent HOTAS means to your skill and as a consequence your overall enjoyment of the SIM......Trust me, it's probably THE most important investment that you will make to this your (and our) very expensive hobby.

That said, if you can test-drive your options prior to purchase then do so. If you cannot, get the best you can afford - you'll not be sorry.

CH is excellent, programming is top notch, hands down best out there. I've had mine for several years and they have been through about 6 moves and they still work perfectly.

The fighterstick is very good. I had one for years and it is the stick in the a10.

I had the ch throttle and thought it was ok. I couldn't live with it's throttle now that I play so much a10 but I would make the same comment about the others as well since I moved to the tm warthog.

The only thing I didn't like in the ch lineup were the pedals. Close together and no resistance. Often I found that I was hawing because of unintentionally moving them.

Depends on where you're buying too.

In the UK the CH HOTAS will cost you £220 whereas the Warthog will cost you £275 - Main reason I have never dabbled in CH Products.
